🔥 CHAPTER 3 — "The Man Every Billionaire Feared Walked Through the Gates..."

The sound of helicopter blades faded.

Then came complete silence.

No one moved.

The birthday guests who had arrived wearing designer suits and luxury jewelry suddenly looked like frightened schoolchildren.

Sophia—the millionaire's spoiled daughter—kept staring toward the mansion entrance.

"This is ridiculous," she whispered, more to convince herself than anyone else.

"My father will handle this."

But even as she spoke, she noticed something she had never seen before.

Her father's personal security team...

...had stepped aside.

Not because they wanted to.

Because they had been ordered to.

A convoy of black armored SUVs rolled slowly into the courtyard.

The doors opened in perfect synchronization.

Eight bodyguards stepped out first.

Not one of them looked around.

Instead, they formed two silent lines.

Then an elderly man emerged from the center vehicle.

Gray hair.

Simple black suit.

No expensive watch.

No jewelry.

Nothing flashy.

Yet the moment he appeared...

Every businessman on the rooftop froze.

One elderly banker gasped.

"It... it's really him."

Another guest quietly murmured,

"Richard Ashford..."

A billionaire technology investor immediately lowered his head in respect.

Even Sophia's father, Victor Lancaster—the powerful real-estate tycoon whose name appeared regularly in business magazines—hurried downstairs almost running.

For years he had dreamed of meeting Richard Ashford.

He had imagined discussing investments.

Building partnerships.

Expanding his empire.

Never...

Not like this.

Victor reached the courtyard, breathing heavily.

"Mr. Ashford..."

He forced a smile.

"What an incredible honor—"

Richard walked past him as if he didn't exist.

Not a single glance.

Not a single handshake.

Victor's smile froze.

For the first time in decades...

Someone had treated him like invisible furniture.

Richard climbed the rooftop stairs slowly.

His polished shoes echoed against the marble.

Step.

Step.

Step.

Every sound made Sophia's heartbeat race faster.

When he reached Eleonora's stretcher, he stopped.

The unconscious young woman lay beneath a blanket, oxygen mask covering her face.

Richard gently brushed several wet strands of hair away from her forehead.

His hands trembled.

"My little girl..."

His voice broke.

The bodyguards lowered their heads.

Several guests looked at one another in disbelief.

This feared billionaire...

...was crying.

He held Eleonora's cold hand.

"I promised your mother I'd protect you."

"And I failed."

A single tear rolled down his cheek.

No one dared breathe.

Finally Richard stood.

He slowly turned toward Sophia.

"Are you the one?"

Sophia swallowed.

"I... I..."

"My daughter told you she couldn't swim."

Silence.

"She begged you."

Silence.

"You pushed her anyway."

Sophia burst into tears.

"I didn't think—"

"No."

Richard interrupted quietly.

"You didn't."

The calmness in his voice frightened everyone far more than shouting ever could.

Victor rushed forward.

"Mr. Ashford, she's only twenty-two."

"She's immature."

"It was an accident."

"I'll compensate Eleonora."

Richard slowly looked at him.

"Compensate?"

He almost smiled.

"You believe money solves everything."

Victor nodded desperately.

"My lawyers can prepare—"

Richard raised one finger.

His assistant immediately handed him a tablet.

Richard looked at the screen.

Then asked calmly,

"Victor..."

"What percentage of your company relies on contracts financed by Ashford International?"

Victor's smile disappeared.

"...About sixty percent."

"And your bank loans?"

Victor remained silent.

"The insurance underwriting?"

Silence.

"The construction permits supported by our investment funds?"

Victor's breathing became uneven.

Richard handed the tablet back.

"Interesting."

"Because as of sixty seconds ago..."

"...every contract has been suspended."

Victor felt his knees weaken.

"What?"

"Every loan review has been frozen."

"No..."

"Every pending acquisition canceled."

His assistant continued reading updates.

"Your stock..."

"...has already begun falling."

Victor's phone vibrated.

Then again.

And again.

Twenty-three missed calls.

Thirty-seven emergency messages.

His chief financial officer.

His legal department.

His board members.

His investors.

One message simply read:

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?

Victor's hands began shaking uncontrollably.

His billion-dollar empire...

May you like

...was collapsing in real time.

And Richard Ashford still hadn't begun his revenge.
