CHAPTER 2 — "The Secret Adrian Buried Eight Years Ago"

The security guards began walking toward the little girl.

But before they could reach her...

She looked directly into Adrian's eyes.

Then quietly asked,

"Why did you tell everyone I died with Mommy?"

The words echoed through the ballroom like thunder.

Every conversation stopped.

Every phone lifted into the air.

The bride slowly stepped away from Adrian.

"What... did she just say?"

Adrian shook his head violently.

"She's confused! She doesn't know what she's talking about!"

But the elderly woman suddenly raised another envelope.

"I've stayed silent for eight years."

"Not anymore."

Inside were hospital records...

Birth certificates...

And dozens of letters Adrian had written to the child's mother while secretly supporting them before suddenly disappearing forever.

The bride's hands began shaking as she flipped through the documents.

"They're real..."

She stared at Adrian in disbelief.

"You have a daughter?"

Adrian opened his mouth...

But no words came out.

Then the little girl quietly reached into her pocket one last time.

She pulled out a small silver necklace.

"I've worn this every day because Mommy said Daddy would recognize it."

Adrian froze.

It was the necklace he had personally placed around his newborn daughter's neck in the hospital.

No one else could possibly know that.

Tears filled his eyes.

The room expected him to deny everything.

Instead...

He slowly dropped to his knees.

"I'm sorry..."

The bride stepped backward in horror.

"You didn't just lie to me..."

"You erased your own child."

But the biggest shock had yet to come.

The elderly woman looked straight at Adrian and revealed the truth no one had ever imagined.

"The girl isn't here because she wants money."

"She's here because the people who made her disappear... have finally found her again."

Outside the ballroom...

A black SUV slowly pulled into the parking lot.

And the men inside weren't guests.

They had come to finish what someone had started...

May you like

Eight years earlier.
