Chapter 4: The DNA Result That Destroyed the Mansion
The next morning, the Sterling dining hall was filled with lawyers, doctors, and family members.
Vanessa sat elegantly beside William, pretending nothing had happened.
Emily stood alone near the window, pale and exhausted.
Dr. Hayes entered with a sealed envelope.
Everyone stopped breathing.
William opened it slowly.
His eyes scanned the page.
Then his knees nearly gave out.
Vanessa smiled.
"Well, Father?"
William looked at Emily with tears in his eyes.
"The test confirms it."
The room went silent.
"Emily Carter is my biological daughter."
Gasps erupted.
Emily covered her mouth.
Vanessa's face turned white.
"No... no, that's not possible!"
But William wasn't finished.
His voice became darker.

He looked directly at Vanessa.
"The security footage also confirms that someone entered Emily's room last night and destroyed her necklace."
Vanessa froze.
A lawyer placed a tablet on the table.
The video played.

William's voice was quiet but deadly.
"You tried to erase my daughter twice."

"She stole my life!"
William stood up.
"No. You stole hers."
