CHAPTER 2 – The Secret Hidden Beneath the Mansion

Victoria screamed for security.

"Remove that child immediately!"

But the little girl refused to let go of the silver key.

Instead, she looked at Daniel with tears streaming down her cheeks.

"You promised Mommy you'd come back..."

The words hit him like a bullet.

His knees nearly gave out.

Seven years earlier, before building his billion-dollar empire, Daniel had fallen in love with a young violinist named Emily.

She vanished overnight.

Everyone—including the police—believed she had abandoned him.

Eventually, Daniel buried every memory of her... including the only key that connected them to a hidden room beneath the old Sterling estate.

Or so he thought.

The little girl slowly held up the blood-stained paper cup.

Inside...

Not blood.

Red paint.

The entire ballroom had mistaken it in the panic.

Then she quietly unfolded a yellowed letter.

"My mommy said... if something happened to her... I should give this to you."

Daniel's hands shook as he opened it.

The handwriting was unmistakably Emily's.

"If you're reading this, someone finally found us. Don't trust anyone wearing the Sterling family crest. They didn't want me to disappear... They made me disappear."

Daniel's heart stopped.

Because every member of the Sterling Foundation—including his own wife Victoria—was wearing that exact crest on their lapels.

Suddenly...

The ballroom lights went dark.

A single spotlight illuminated the little girl.

Then an unfamiliar voice echoed through the speakers.

"Welcome home, Mr. Sterling."

"We've been waiting seven years for you to discover... your daughter."
