Chapter 6 - THE DAWN ALLIANCEThe weekend passed in a relentless, blinding blur of high-stakes legal maneuvering and digital forensics.

Ethan didn't sleep for forty-eight hours. Armed with Lily’s recovered document and the cryptographic metadata downloaded from Derek’s laptop, Ethan’s elite legal team worked alongside federal investigators to unmask the entire conspiracy.

By Sunday evening, federal subpoenas had been slapped onto Arthur Sterling’s corporate headquarters, freezing Sterling Technologies' stock trading accounts pending an emergency federal inquiry into illegal market manipulation and corporate sabotage.

But Ethan knew that legal victories alone wouldn't save Vale Harbor Systems from financial collapse by Monday morning. The company still needed an immediate capital injection of fifty million dollars to satisfy its debt covenants before the board opened the doors at 9:00 AM.

And Arthur Sterling had made sure that every traditional venture capital firm in Silicon Valley and Wall Street had blacklisted Ethan’s company, believing it to be a sinking ship.

At 6:00 AM on Monday, Ethan sat in the executive boardroom of Vale Harbor Systems on the 40th floor, watching the sunrise paint the Newport Coast in brilliant shades of gold and crimson. He wore a crisp charcoal suit, his hair neatly combed, his expression carved from granite.

The heavy mahogany doors swung open at 8:45 AM.

The board members filed in, looking tense and grim. Leading the pack was Chairman Henderson, an elderly, sharp-eyed investor with decades of experience on Wall Street.

"Ethan," Henderson said gravely, taking his seat at the head of the long glass table. "We’ve all seen the preliminary federal filings regarding Derek Ward and Vanessa Crane. It's a catastrophic scandal. But let's cut to the chase. Without fifty million dollars in capital liquid by 10:00 AM today, our debt covenants are breached, and this board will be forced to vote on liquidating the company assets to Sterling Technologies for pennies on the dollar."

A heavy, suffocating silence descended over the room. Several board members avoided Ethan's eyes, whispering amongst themselves.

Ethan didn't flinch. He stood up slowly from his chair, walking over to the main projection screen at the front of the room.

"Gentlemen," Ethan began, his voice calm, resonant, and dripping with absolute confidence. "Before you vote on liquidation, I’d like to introduce you to a new strategic investor."

Chairman Henderson raised a skeptical eyebrow. "At this hour? Who on earth is willing to back a company facing a hostile liquidity crisis?"

The boardroom doors opened once more.

Nora Parker walked in, wearing her simple, clean navy-blue cleaning uniform, holding her head high with quiet, unbreakable dignity. Walking right beside her, holding her hand, was seven-year-old Lily Parker, carrying a small, neat canvas tote bag.

Several board members gasped in sheer bewilderment.

"Ethan, what is the meaning of this?" Henderson demanded, standing up half out of his seat. "This is a closed executive board meeting! What are cleaning staff doing in here?"

"They aren't just cleaning staff, Chairman Henderson," Ethan said smoothly, walking over to Nora and Lily and gently guiding them toward the front of the room. "Nora has been the backbone of this estate for four years. And Lily... well, Lily is the reason Vale Harbor Systems even exists today."

Ethan tapped his remote. The projection screen lit up, displaying a high-resolution scan of Lily’s crumpled drawing pad, alongside a verified digital wire confirmation slip.

"What you're looking at is a secured, unencumbered fifty-million-dollar angel investment trust," Ethan announced clearly.

The room erupted into shocked murmurs.

"Fifty million?!" Chairman Henderson shouted, leaning forward in disbelief. "From whom?! No traditional fund has that kind of liquidity ready on an hour's notice!"

"Not a traditional fund," Ethan smiled softly, looking down at Lily. "A private trust fund established by the sovereign wealth portfolio of a major international tech conglomerate that just reviewed our proprietary Lattice AI code—a code that was rescued entirely because a seven-year-old girl spotted a blinking red light behind an abstract painting."
