Chapter 6 - The Midnight EvictionBack on the terrace, the illusion of wealth shattered completely within twenty minutes.

County sheriff deputies, acting on emergency property execution orders filed by Evelyn Vance, fanned out across the Aspen estate with clipboards and eviction notices.

“Alright, everybody out!” a gruff sheriff deputy announced, banging a clipboard against the mahogany dining table where half-eaten gourmet desserts still sat untouched. “The commercial lease held by the De La Rosa corporate entity has been terminated for breach of financial solvency and criminal activity. You have thirty minutes to collect your personal belongings and vacate the premises.”

Chaos erupted instantly.

“Thirty minutes?!” Mercedes screeched, leaping out of her chair with a furious expression. “Do you know how much this house costs per night?! I demand to speak to the owner!”

“The owner is a corporate trust controlled by Mrs. Elena Vance,” the deputy replied deadpan, pointing toward the driveway. “And she wants every single one of you off her property right now. Move it.”

Helpless and humiliated, the twenty-three relatives scrambled through the mansion, stuffing designer clothes, expensive jewelry, and half-empty bottles of wine into duffel bags and suitcases. By 1:00 AM, the grand estate was completely deserted, its former guests standing shivering on the dark mountain roadside like refugees, waiting for taxis that their declined credit cards could never pay for.

And sitting handcuffed in the back of the county police cruiser, staring blankly out the reinforced window, was Álvaro De La Rosa—the golden boy whose throne had vanished in less than an hour.
