Chapter 7 - The Final Gambit

Charles smirked, walking slowly toward his daughter, his hand extended. "A wise decision, my dear. Family always comes—"

CLACK.

Clara didn't hand him the watch. She opened the latch and pressed the hidden emergency manual override button on the side—a button designed by Sarah before she died.

The watch emitted an ear-splitting, high-frequency acoustic pulse designed to disrupt tactical communication headsets and electronic scopes.

Above them, the sniper in the rafters groaned, dropping his rifle as his earpieces burst into agonizing static. The guards stumbled, clutching their ears in blinding pain.

"NOW, JULIAN!" Clara screamed.

Julian tackled Charles to the ground, while Arthur grabbed Leo and pulled him behind a reinforced steel pillar. Clara lunged for the laptop.

UPLOAD COMPLETE.

Across the globe, thousands of media outlets, law enforcement agencies, and financial regulators simultaneously received millions of encrypted files detailing the illegal bio-weapon operations of Montgomery Medical and Vance Enterprises.

"You ruined everything!" Charles roared, fighting Julian off with surprising strength for his age, drawing a hidden blade from his gold cane.

He slashed at Julian, catching him across the chest. Julian fell back, gasping for air as blood soaked his shirt.

Charles stood up, his face twisted in pure, unbridled rage. He raised the cane-blade, pointing it straight at Clara as she stood over the laptop.

"I gave you life, Clara!" Charles screamed, charging at her. "And tonight, I take it back!"

Clara didn't flinch. She didn't retreat. She didn't look for a chair to hide behind.

As Charles lunged, Clara sidestepped with stunning speed, her legs fully responding to the adrenaline and the cured nerve pathways. She grabbed her father’s outstretched arm, twisted his wrist until the blade dropped, and drove her elbow directly into his jaw.

Charles crashed hard onto the floor, his gold cane shattering against the concrete.

Sirens echoed in the distance—dozens of them, approaching fast from every direction. The police had finally arrived, alerted not by a phone call, but by the massive global data dump that had just triggered an international arrest warrant for Charles Montgomery.
