Chapter 7 - THE REUNION OF BLOOD

Title: Brother Against Brother
That evening, Michael received an anonymous video call on his secure satellite phone.
He answered it. The screen lit up to show a luxurious high-rise apartment overlooking the skyline of London.
Sitting in a leather armchair was Arthur Carter. He looked remarkably like Michael, but his face was scarred, his eyes devoid of any human warmth.
"Hello, little brother," Arthur said, taking a sip of scotch. "I see you survived Julian's sloppy execution."
"Arthur," Michael’s voice was lethal. "You're alive."
"Alive and thriving," Arthur smirked. "Father left you the entire Carter estate because he thought I was too ruthless. He called me a sociopath. So I faked my death, let you build the company into a multi-billion-dollar monster, and waited for the right time to take back what is mine."
"You sent that psychopathic woman to abuse my children?!" Michael roared. "Ethan and Lily are your niece and nephew!"
"They were leverage," Arthur replied coldly. "I needed you weak, distracted, and dying so the asset transfer would go smoothly. You always were too soft, Michael. You let your emotions govern you. A real Carter controls everything."
"You touched my kids, Arthur," Michael said, his tone dropping into a terrifying calm. "There is nowhere on this earth you can hide from me. I will tear down every company, every bank account, and every wall you build until I find you."
Arthur laughed—a chilling, hollow sound. "You won't have to look far, Michael. Turn around."
Michael froze.

The security monitor in his study suddenly flickered. The perimeter cameras showed a heavy armored transport tearing through the front gates of the mansion.
"Did you really think I’d stay in London?" Arthur whispered through the phone. "I’m in your driveway, brother. Let’s finish this family dispute once and for all."
