Chapter 10 - THE FINAL RECKONINGI walked into the warehouse, the very one where Diane’s thugs held court. Matthew was tied to a chair, bloodied but conscious.

"Emily, get out!" he roared.

I pulled a small, silver device from my pocket—the same one he had used to escape the SUV. I hadn't just run away; I had studied his systems. I had hacked his security grid.

"It’s over," I said, pointing the device at the warehouse's main breaker.

With one click, I blacked out the entire compound. In the darkness, I didn't need to be a billionaire’s ward. I was a survivor. I reached Matthew, cut his ties, and in the chaos, we vanished into the night.

Back at the estate, we stood on the balcony, watching the sun rise.

"You saved me," Matthew said, his voice hoarse.

"No," I replied, looking at the city I now understood how to control. "I learned from the best."

He smiled, a real, vulnerable smile. I reached out and took his hand. We weren't just a savior and a survivor anymore. We were two storms that had finally collided, and the world would never be the same again.
