Chapter 10 - The New KingdomThe morning sun broke over Bellhaven, casting a golden light across the polished marble floors of the newly rebuilt Rourke Tower—now rebranded and officially registered as Mercer-Rourke Global Holdings.

Grace Mercer stepped out of the private executive elevator, wearing a sharp, custom-tailored charcoal suit that mirrored the one Dominic used to wear. Her hair was down, her posture was unyielding, and her eyes held the absolute, unshakeable power of a queen who had conquered her own demons.
She walked into the grand corner office.
Dominic Rourke stood by the massive floor-to-ceiling windows, holding a crystal glass of bourbon, looking out over the city he had reclaimed.
On his desk sat a single, framed three-dollar bill resting beside a brand-new blue ceramic coffee mug.
Dominic turned as Grace entered, raising his glass in a silent toast.
"Welcome back to work, Miss Mercer," Dominic said, a rare, genuine smile touching his lips.
Grace walked to her desk, sat down in the executive leather chair, and opened the master portfolio. She didn't look like the terrified waitress who had dodged a flying coffee mug four months ago.

She looked like the ruler of a brand new kingdom.
"Let's get to work," Grace smiled.
