Chapter 2 - THE FORGE OF VENGEANCE

💥 VIRAL HOOK: "When you burn down a blacksmith's home, don't be surprised when they use the remaining embers to forge your demise."Twenty minutes later, Clara—the blacksmith’s daughter—burst through the wooden door of her father’s workshop, her lungs burning, her clothes soaked in sweat and rain.
"Father! We have to leave! Right now!" she gasped.
Her father, Silas, a man with a frame like an old oak tree and hands hardened by decades of striking steel, didn't look up immediately. He was staring at the glowing embers of his forge. When he finally turned, his eyes weren't filled with panic. They were filled with an ominous, tragic sorrow.
"They are already coming, Clara," Silas said softly.
Before Clara could process his words, the horrific sound of roaring engines filled the narrow street outside. A dozen black SUVs surrounded the forge. Through the windows, Clara saw the flash of Molotov cocktails being lit.
"Marcus survived," Clara realized with a cold dread. "The dog didn't kill him."
"Marcus is a parasite," Silas muttered, grabbing a heavy, beautifully wrapped velvet cloth from beneath the floorboards. He shoved it into Clara's hands along with the stolen mafia ledger. "Take this. Run through the old coal tunnels beneath the furnace. Do not look back."
"I am not leaving you!" Clara yelled as a brick shattered the front window, followed by a bottle of gasoline. Flames erupted instantly, licking the wooden pillars of the shop. The heat grew unbearable within seconds.
"They want me to pay for your defiance, child," Silas smiled, a grim, beautiful expression. "But they forget... I am the one who forged the blades they carry. I know exactly where the metal is weak."
Silas hoisted a massive, sixty-pound sledgehammer over his shoulder. As Marcus’s heavily armed enforcers kicked down the front door, guns raised, the old blacksmith charged into the wall of fire, screaming a battle cry that shook the very foundations of the district.

Clara cried out, her heart breaking into a million pieces as she was forced down into the dark, suffocating extraction tunnel beneath the floor. Behind her, the sounds of gunshots, breaking bones, and the horrific roar of a collapsing roof echoed through the dark.
CHAPTER 2 CLIFFHANGER HOOK: Emerging into a deserted graveyard three miles away, Clara unwrapped the velvet cloth her father had given her. Inside was not a weapon, but a stunning, pristine silver crown inlaid with black diamonds—and a letter addressed to her father from the most ruthless, long-thought-dead crime lord of the previous generation.
