Chapter 5 - NIGHT OF THE IRON RECKONING

💥 VIRAL HOOK: "The ultimate showdown! The fake king meets the real god of the underworld!""I didn't die, Marcus," Silas said, his voice booming through the shattered ballroom like thunder. "I simply retired to see if the city could breed a man worthy of replacing me. All I found was a dog who bites the hand that feeds him."

Marcus trembled, backing away toward the stage. "I built this empire! I control the judges! I control the ports!"

"You control nothing," Clara stepped forward, pulling a small remote detonator from her dress pocket. "While you were busy looking for me in the alleys, my father’s old loyalists were placing thermite charges on every single one of your drug warehouses, your banks, and your ships. If I press this button, your entire life’s work turns to ash in three seconds."

Marcus looked at the powerful guests in the room, but everyone avoided his eyes. They knew the hierarchy had just flipped. The true royal family of the underworld had returned.

In a desperate, cowardly move, Marcus grabbed a hidden knife from his sleeve and lunged at Clara, aiming for her throat. "If I go down, you go with me!"

BANG.

A shot rang out, but it didn't come from Silas, and it didn't come from Clara.

Marcus collapsed to his knees, a bullet hole perfectly drilled through his right shoulder. He looked toward the ballroom entrance in absolute shock.

Standing at the doorway, holding a smoking pistol, was Julian. His face was bruised, his clothes torn. He looked at Clara with a mixture of terror and desperation. "Clara! I did it! I shot him! I was playing double agent the whole time to protect you! Please, tell your father to spare me!"

Clara walked slowly toward Julian, her heels clicking rhythmically against the marble floor. She looked at the boy she once trusted, then looked down at the briefcase of money he was still secretly trying to hide behind his back.

CHAPTER 5 CLIFFHANGER HOOK: Clara took the gun from Julian’s hand, smiled gently, and turned it directly toward her own father’s chest. "Nice try, Julian," Clara whispered, "but you're not the only one who knows how to play a double game. And Father... it's time we talk about the real reason you put me through this nightmare."
