Chapter 4 - PLAYING WITH FIRE IN THE LION’S DEN

💥 VIRAL HOOK: "She didn't get captured. She walked into his palace on purpose—and brought his worst nightmare with her."The grand ballroom of the Vance Manor was filled with the city’s elite. Politicians, judges, and rival mob bosses dined on caviar while Marcus Vance stood at the head of the table, his face heavily bandaged from the dog attack, his ego deeply wounded.
"A toast," Marcus raised his glass, trying to project power. "To the elimination of threats. Tonight, the rebellious blacksmith's daughter has been handled."
Right on cue, the heavy mahogany doors of the ballroom burst open.
Two guards stumbled backward, their throats bleeding. Walking past them, dressed not in rags but in a stunning, blood-red silk gown she had stolen from Julian’s elite neighbors, was Clara. In her right hand, she held the severed, blood-dripping hand of Marcus’s top lieutenant. In her left hand, she held the Ledger of Blood.
The entire ballroom went dead silent. The guests gasped, stepping back in horror.
"You looking for this, Marcus?" Clara’s voice echoed, completely devoid of fear. She tossed the lieutenant's hand onto the center of the dinner table, splashing blood over the white linen.
"You arrogant brat!" Marcus snarled, pulling his gun. "You walk into my home alone? You think those mutts are here to save you now?"
"Who said I was alone?" Clara smiled.
Suddenly, the massive glass skylight of the ballroom shattered into a million glittering shards. Descending through the ceiling were not police, but a heavily armed, highly disciplined paramilitary force wearing armor stamped with a crest no one had seen in twenty years: A silver anvil surrounded by black diamonds.

At the lead of the strike team was none other than Silas, her father, alive, covered in soot, and wielding a fully automatic assault rifle. But he wasn't acting like a humble blacksmith anymore. He stood with the terrifying, absolute authority of a king.
CHAPTER 4 CLIFFHANGER HOOK: Marcus’s own guards immediately dropped their weapons and fell to their knees at the sight of Silas. Marcus looked around in absolute panic, realizing his entire army had just abandoned him. "Don... Don Silas?" Marcus whispered, his face turning pale. "You... you passed away twenty years ago!"
