Chapter 8 - THE FINAL TWIST

The night air was crisp, carrying the faint, sweet scent of mountain pine and ocean breeze.

Inside the subterranean garage of the Grand Alcazar, the security cameras in Sector Four flickered once, twice, and then went completely dark.

A lone figure stepped out from behind a concrete pillar, wearing a dark trench coat and a wide-brimmed hat that cast a deep shadow over their face.

It was a woman.

She walked slowly toward the private elevator bank reserved exclusively for the penthouse suite—an elevator that required both a biometric scan and a cryptographic master key.

She reached into her coat pocket, pulled out a small, custom-built override device, and plugged it directly into the emergency service port of the elevator control panel.

BEEP.

The digital display flashed green.

The elevator doors slid open silently.

The woman stepped inside, pulling down the brim of her hat just enough to reveal a familiar, sharp smirk across her lips.

Up in the penthouse, Julian and Elena were fast asleep, wrapped safely in each other's arms, completely unaware of the shadow rising toward them.

The elevator chimed softly on the penthouse floor.

Ding.

The private doors parted.

Standing in the doorway, holding a small, silver-framed photograph of Julian, Elena, and their wedding day—with Elena’s face neatly scratched out with a razor blade—was Camila Vance.

Her hair was cut short, dyed jet black, and her eyes burned with a psychotic, unhinged glee.

"Did you really think a simple prison sentence could stop a Vance?" Camila whispered into the empty hallway, her laughter echoing softly against the onyx walls as she raised a small, silver keycard toward the master bedroom.

"Surprise, big brother," she murmured, stepping silently into the dark.
