Chapter 18 - The Foundation of Tomorrow

By summer, the Costa community center downtown opened its doors to hundreds of underprivileged children and families. It was a sprawling facility featuring after-school tutoring programs, art studios, and safe spaces for kids caught in the dangerous crossfire of city neighborhoods.
At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the local press flashed cameras furiously as Nora stood at the podium, flanked by Arthur and their four children.
"An empire is not measured by the territory it conquers, or the ledgers it balances," Nora spoke into the microphone, her voice carrying clear, strong, and resonant across the crowded sidewalk. "An empire is measured by how it protects its most vulnerable, and how it chooses to build a future out of broken pieces."
In the front row, Leo and Dante cheered loudly, while Mia and Chloe beamed with pride. Arthur stood a step back, watching his wife with a gaze filled with absolute adoration and reverence.
