Nora stood on the second-floor balcony, the platinum pendant sparkling against her chest as the morning sun broke over the horizon. She wasn't broken. She wasn't a motel with flickering neon signs. Arthur stepped out onto the balcony, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder as they watched the golden light flood the courtyard.
