Chapter 19 - The Unbreakable Vows

That night, after the cameras had faded and the children were fast asleep in their beds, Arthur took Nora back to the Continental lounge—the exact subterranean cigar lounge where their story had begun two years prior.
The lounge had changed under Costa management. The smoky, oppressive stench of cheap morals and predatory men was gone, replaced by polished mahogany, soft jazz, and an air of refined, untouchable elegance.
They sat in the exact same high-backed leather booth where a terrified, sold-off girl had once stared down a scarred predator.
The bartender approached immediately, placing two glasses of high-end bourbon on the table without needing to ask.
Arthur raised his glass, looking across the table at his wife. The woman who had transformed his war zone into a home, and his cold fortress into a sanctuary.
"To the best investment I ever made," Arthur toasted softly, his dark eyes burning with intensity.
Nora clinked her glass against his, a slow, radiant smile breaking across her porcelain features.

They didn't need words to express what came next. They belonged to each other—not through a forced ledger entry, not through a syndicate contract, and not through bloodlines or forced expectations, but through deliberate, fierce, unyielding choice.
