Chapter 1 - The Crash at the AltarThe cathedral was a masterpiece of breathtaking luxury, a symphony of white roses, cascading crystal chandeliers, and the hushed whispers of the city’s most elite. At the altar stood Sebastian Thorne, a titan of corporate finance, whose name commanded both fear and absolute obedience. On his arm was Victoria Vance, the glittering heiress whose family fortune was the final puzzle piece to Sebastian’s total market dominance.

The organ swelled. The priest opened his ceremonial book.

And then, the heavy oak doors of the cathedral slammed open.

"Stop!"

A sharp, breathless voice cut through the sacred silence like a razor. Heads whipped around in unison. Striding down the immaculate white aisle were two little girls. The older one, perhaps eight, clutched her trembling younger sister's hand so tightly her knuckles were stark white. Their clothes were dusty, mismatched, and utterly out of place among the designer silk and tailored tuxedos of the elite congregation.

Victoria’s jaw tightened, her painted smile instantly twisting into venom. "Security! Remove these street urchins immediately!"

"Daddy!" the older girl cried out, ignoring the guards rushing toward them. Her voice cracked with a mixture of raw grief and fierce defiance. "You promised you’d come home. You said you were just away on business. But you’re marrying another woman while we have nothing to eat!"

A shockwave of stunned gasps rippled through the pews. Whispers erupted like wildfire. Sebastian froze, his blood turning to ice. The impenetrable armor of power and perfection he had spent a decade forging shattered in a single second. The past he had buried in a shallow grave had just walked back to claim him.
