Chapter 5 - The Shadow BenefactorThe voice on the phone belonged to Marcus Vance—no, not Victoria’s father, but his estranged, ruthless elder brother who had been exiled to Geneva decades ago.

"You think you lost everything, Sebastian?" Marcus chuckled darkly over the encrypted line. "Victoria’s father only controlled half of the conglomerate. I control the shadow assets. I watched you break down at that altar, and for the first time, I saw a pulse in you. You stopped being a corporate machine and became a father. That makes you dangerous—and useful."
A week later, Sebastian stepped out of a private jet onto the tarmac of a Swiss airfield, his two daughters holding tightly to his hands, dressed in warm, new coats. They were no longer running from ghosts; they were stepping into a war zone.
Marcus offered him complete financial backing, a clean slate, and a single, brutal objective: orchestrate a hostile takeover of Vance Global and strip Victoria and her father of every single cent they owned.
"Can you do it, Sebastian?" Marcus asked, swirling a glass of aged whiskey in his penthouse overlooking the Alps. "Can you skin the wolves who tried to destroy your flesh and blood?"

Sebastian looked down at his daughters, who were happily drawing pictures on a tablet provided by Marcus's staff. The guilt in his chest had hardened into steel.
"Watch me," Sebastian replied coldly.
