Chapter 5 - The Tables Turn“S-Seo-yeon?!” Mi-sook shrieked, stumbling backward against her leather chair, pointing a trembling finger at me. “How—how are you in this building?! You were thrown out! You’re a homeless beggar!”

“Not quite, stepmother,” I replied smoothly, walking right up to the edge of the conference table and placing my briefcase down with a sharp click. “As for being a beggar... I believe your hundred-dollar bill is still in my pocket. I’ll make sure to return it to you after the audit.”

So-yeon jumped up, her face twisted in rage. “Security! Throw this trash out of the building! She has no right to be here!”

“Nobody touches her,” Chairman Kang commanded.

His voice wasn't loud, but it carried the absolute, crushing weight of a billionaire titan who controlled half the nation’s economy. The two building security guards who had rushed into the room froze instantly, recognizing the legendary face of the Miran Group founder.

Mi-sook swallowed hard, forcing a desperate, trembling smile as she looked at the chairman. “C-Chairman Kang... what an unexpected honor. To what do we owe the pleasure of your presence at our modest family meeting?”

Chairman Kang didn't even look at her. He pulled out the chair directly across from Mi-sook, sat down slowly, and rested his hands on his cane.

“I am here on official business, Mrs. Han,” Chairman Kang replied, his voice chillingly polite. “Miran Group has just acquired controlling interest in the primary debt portfolios of Han Textile. Which makes us your primary creditor.”

Mi-sook’s eyes widened in sheer terror. “C-Creditor? That’s impossible! Our debt was restructured through—!”

“Through illegal shell companies, forged notary seals, and falsified tax filings,” I interrupted, opening my briefcase and pulling out certified federal audit reports.

I tossed a thick stack of documents directly onto the center of the table, right in front of Mi-sook and So-yeon.
