Chapter 6 - The Evidence UnveiledThe board members gasped, leaning over to inspect the papers as the damning details came to light.

“Over twelve billion won siphoned out of corporate accounts into private offshore trusts,” I continued, my voice ringing clear and steady across the silent boardroom. “Unauthorized mortgages on company property, falsified payroll records, and systemic embezzlement designed to bankrupt the company from the inside out.”

Mi-sook grabbed the edge of the table, her fingernails digging into the wood as she hyperventilated. “Lies! Fabricated documents! She’s trying to steal the company from her own family!”

“Your family?” I asked, stepping closer to her, my eyes flashing with righteous fury. “You locked me out of my father’s house, starved me of my education, and tried to sell me off on a rainy night for a hundred-dollar bill. You stopped being my family the day my father drew his last breath.”

Just then, the glass doors opened again.

Three uniformed national economic crime inspectors marched into the boardroom, accompanied by the district prosecutor.

The lead inspector stopped beside Mi-sook and So-yeon, pulling out official arrest warrants.

“Han Mi-sook. Han So-yeon,” the inspector announced loudly. “You are formally placed under arrest for corporate embezzlement, wire fraud, identity forgery, and laundering of stolen assets.”

So-yeon burst into hysterical tears, burying her face in her hands as heavy steel handcuffs snapped onto her wrists with a sharp, metallic click.

Mi-sook thrashed against the officers, screaming curses at me as they dragged her away from the executive table. “You ungrateful bitch! You’ll pay for this! You’ll never see a single won of this company!”

“Actually,” I said softly, watching them get hauled out through the double doors, “I already own it.”
