Chapter 10 - PLOT TWIST OF THE CENTURY: THE CHAIRWOMAN WAS NEVER IN DANGER—BECAUSE SHE PLANNED THIS 20 YEARS AGO!

The force of the explosion echoed across the entire city. Sirens blared in the distance as firefighters and emergency units rushed to the scene.

On the ground, covered in ash and soot, Chloe coughed violently, staring at Maya and Eleanor who were shielding her with their own bodies. Tears washed clean lines through the dirt on Chloe’s face.

"You... you saved me?" Chloe sobbed, staring at Eleanor. "After how I treated you? After I let my mother shove you onto the floor?"

Eleanor slowly sat up, bruised and bleeding from a small cut on her forehead, but her eyes were filled with an overwhelming, fierce tenderness. She reached out, gently wrapping her arms around both Maya and Chloe, pulling her lost twin daughters together into one tight embrace.

"I will never let anyone hurt my children again," Eleanor promised softly, her voice shaking with profound emotion.

Suddenly, a loud, clapping sound broke through the noise of the flames.

Walking out from the shadows of the side alley was a tall man in a bespoke white suit, holding a silver walking cane. He was smiling warmly, his eyes sharp and calculating.

"Bravo, sister-in-law. Bravo," the man said smoothly.

Eleanor didn't panic. She didn't flinch. She slowly stood up, placing herself firmly between the man and her two daughters.

"Arthur," Eleanor said, her voice completely devoid of surprise.

Maya and Chloe gasped. "Arthur Vance?! But... he’s supposed to be dead!"

"A faked death is the ultimate corporate tax shelter, my dear nieces," Arthur sneered, leaning on his silver cane. "I spent twenty years building this game. I let you think you were winning today, Eleanor. I let you arrest Julian. I let you expose the Sterlings. But Vance Global is already mine. The legal transfers went through the moment the clock struck midnight!"

Arthur pulled out a sleek black control device, holding it up. "Every server in Vance Global is now under my direct authority. You have nothing left, Eleanor. You are broke. Your daughters are penniless. I have won."

Eleanor took a deep breath. Then, a slow, terrifying smile spread across her face. It was not the smile of a defeated woman. It was the smile of a grandmaster placing her opponent in an inescapable checkmate.

"Did you really think I didn't know you were alive, Arthur?" Eleanor asked softly.

Arthur’s arrogant smile flickered. "What are you talking about?"

Eleanor tapped her ear, activating her internal comms link. "Execute Command Alpha Zero."

Instantly, every giant electronic billboard surrounding the city square flickered, turning bright red. Massive legal documents, video files, and audio recordings began broadcasting live across every television channel, streaming platform, and financial terminal in the world!

Arthur’s phone began vibrating uncontrollably in his pocket. Dozens of frantic alerts flooded his screen:

WARNING: ALL ASSETS CONFISCATED BY FEDERAL AUTHORITIES. WARNING: ARREST WARRANT ISSUED FOR ARTHUR VANCE.

"How... how is this possible?!" Arthur stammered, his face turning as white as paper as he stared at his phone.

"Because I didn't dress up as a cleaning woman today to catch Julian," Eleanor said, taking a step toward him, her presence overwhelming the entire plaza. "I dressed up as a cleaning woman because for the last six months, I personally cleaned your private penthouse office, Arthur."

Arthur’s jaw dropped in absolute horror.

"Every line of code you wrote, every offshore account you opened, every wire transfer you authorized... I installed the hardware loggers directly under your desk while I was wiping down your marble floors," Eleanor revealed, her voice echoing with absolute victory. "I let you think you were manipulating me. I let you bring my daughters back to me in one single room. You didn't execute a master plan, Arthur... you walked straight into my trap."

Heavy police helicopters roared overhead, blinding searchlights pinning Arthur in place. Dozens of federal agents swarmed the alley, weapons aimed directly at his heart.

Arthur dropped his silver cane, falling to his knees in the exact same spot where Julian had knelt hours before—broken, humiliated, and utterly destroyed.

Eleanor turned back to her two daughters. Chloe was looking at Maya, and then at Eleanor, tears streaming down her face.

"Mother..." Chloe whispered, the word feeling unfamiliar yet deeply right on her lips. "Can... can you ever forgive me?"

Eleanor reached out, taking both Maya’s and Chloe’s hands in hers, pulling them close as the dawn sun began to rise over the city skyline.
