Chapter 14 - A FAKE SISTER ENTERS THE MANSION—AND THE DNA TEST COMES BACK DEADLY!
Rain poured relentlessly over the Vance Private Estate as midnight approached. The mansion was locked down under heavy security, guarded by elite private tactical operators.
Inside the grand library, Eleanor, Maya, and Chloe sat reviewing the encrypted files recovered from the sub-basement server.
Suddenly, the grand front doors rattled. The head of security entered, looking deeply disturbed. "Madam Chairwoman... someone just pulled up to the front gates. She claims to be the real second twin."
Eleanor’s eyes narrowed. "What absurdity is this? My daughters are right here!"
A young woman stepped into the warm light of the library. She wore a pristine white rain trench coat, her features eerily identical to Maya and Chloe—a third sister, bearing the exact same face, the exact same hazel eyes, and a matching silver locket hanging from her neck!
"Hello, Mother," the woman said smoothly, a cold, elegant smile gracing her lips. "I am Evelyn. The daughter you left behind in Geneva."
Chloe gasped, staggering backward. Maya immediately moved in front of Chloe defensively.
"This is impossible," Eleanor declared, her voice cold as ice. "I gave birth to twin daughters. Two! Not three!"
Evelyn threw a certified medical dossier onto the mahogany table. "A rare triplet division, buried by the clinic doctors hired by Arthur Vance. You were told two were stolen. The third was raised by The Apex Group from the day she took her first breath."
Evelyn turned her piercing gaze onto Chloe. "And as for her... Chloe isn't a Vance at all. She was an orphan swapped into the Sterling family to act as a decoy."
Chloe’s breath caught in her throat. She looked down at her hands, her world shattering into a million pieces once more. "No... no... that's not true..."
"Run a rapid DNA test right now," Evelyn taunted, pulling a sterile blood sampling kit from her coat pocket. "Let's see whose blood truly carries the Vance legacy."
Ten minutes later, the automated portable sequencer beeped sharply on the table.
