Chapter 2 - THE SHOCKING FOOTAGEThe high-definition cameras didn't just capture Clara dusting the room; they captured every single microscopic movement with terrifying clarity.

On the giant screen in the foyer, Clara was seen wiping down the baseboards near the heavy velvet curtains. True to her word, she never approached the hidden wall safe behind the oil painting of the Sterling patriarch. She moved systematically, finished her task in precisely six minutes, picked up her bucket, and walked straight out of the room.
Evelyn scoffed, crossing her arms tighter. "So what? She used sleight of hand! She probably took it before the camera turned on or after she left!"
"Keep watching, Madam," Mr. Jones whispered, his voice uncharacteristically shaky. His fingers trembled as he fast-forwarded the footage to 2:28 PM, fourteen minutes after Clara had departed.
The master study remained completely empty. The afternoon sun shifted across the Persian rug. Suddenly, the heavy mahogany door clicked open.
A collective gasp echoed through the crowded foyer.
It wasn't Clara. It wasn't an intruder from the outside.
It was Arthur Sterling.
On the screen, Arthur walked briskly into the room, his usual composed demeanor replaced by a frantic, sweaty agitation. He marched straight up to the oil painting, swung it aside with a violent jerk, and punched the digital combination into the wall safe. The heavy steel door swung open.
Evelyn’s jaw dropped. She spun around to look at her husband, her face draining of all color. "Arthur? What... what is this? Why are you opening the safe?"
Arthur stood frozen, staring up at the giant screen, his face turning an ash-gray color. He opened his mouth, but no words came out.
On the screen, Arthur reached inside the safe, pulled out the velvet box containing Evelyn’s priceless yellow diamond necklace, and opened it. But instead of pocketing it or admiring it, he did something completely inexplicable. He didn't hide it in his jacket. Instead, he walked over to Clara’s discarded cleaning cart, which she had accidentally left parked just outside the threshold in the hallway during her break.
With calculated precision, Arthur lifted the bottom flap of Clara’s spare canvas laundry bag, dropped the heavy velvet box deep inside, and buried it beneath a pile of used microfiber cloths.
Then, he calmly closed the cart, locked the safe, straightened his tie, and walked out of the room.
The silence in the foyer was so absolute that the hum of the projector sounded like a jet engine. Every eye slowly turned from the screen to Arthur Sterling, who stood rooted to the staircase, sweating profusely under the harsh lights.
"Arthur..." Evelyn whispered, her voice trembling with a mixture of betrayal and horror. "You... you framed her? You framed the maid for a theft you committed yourself? Why?!"
Before Arthur could stutter an excuse, Mr. Jones’s tablet beeped violently. A series of automated alert windows popped up across the massive screen, overriding the security playback with a live feed from the mansion’s outer perimeter gates.
"Sir," Mr. Jones said, backing away from Arthur as if he were a poisonous snake. "We have a major problem. The local police department... they just bypassed our private security protocols. They’re already at the front doors."

Heavy, rhythmic pounding echoed against the massive oak front doors of the mansion, followed by a booming voice from outside: "Sterling Estate! Open up! We have a federal warrant for the arrest of Arthur Sterling for corporate fraud, money laundering, and embezzlement!"
Evelyn screamed, stumbling backward into the arms of a terrified footman. Clara remained on her knees on the marble floor, staring at the screen, realizing that the nightmare was only just beginning.
