Chapter 2 - The Night the Engines Roared

The heavy silence of El Rincón de los Milagros was suddenly shattered by a low, rumbling vibration that shook the restaurant's rustic windows. It started as a distant hum, but within minutes, it grew into a deafening roar. Outside, the headlights of thirty heavy Harley-Davidson motorcycles cut through the Guadalajara night.

The doors flew open. A flood of men and women clad in leather jackets, heavy boots, and chains poured into the establishment. The waiters gasped, retreating behind the bar. The mariachi band clutched their instruments, terrified. But El Chivo merely stood up, a fierce, protective grin breaking through his scarred face.

"Listen up, family!" El Chivo boomed, his voice echoing over the dying roar of the engines outside. "Tonight, we aren't just drinking. Tonight, we are celebrating the 78th birthday of the most important man in this room. Meet Don Ignacio. And tonight, he is our father."

The bikers erupted into cheers. Rough hands patted Ignacio on his perfectly tailored suit. Women with fiercely kind eyes kissed his cheeks. Before the elderly man could fully comprehend what was happening, El Chivo pulled out a thick stack of cash and slammed it onto the counter. "Bring out the finest tequila, the best cuts of meat, and tell the mariachis to play until their fingers bleed! I’m paying for it all!"

For the first time in five years, since the passing of his beloved Rosario, Ignacio felt a surge of warmth in his chest. He looked at the empty chairs that his own flesh and blood had deemed unworthy of their time, now filled by scarred, tattooed outlaws who treated him like royalty. They sang, they toasted, and they listened intently as Ignacio shared stories of his youth.

But as the clock struck midnight, El Chivo leaned in close to Ignacio, his expression turning deadly serious. "Don Ignacio, I know men like your son Roberto. I know people like your daughter Carmen. They think they can discard a king because his crown has grown heavy. But they don't know who you really are... do they?"

Ignacio’s eyes dimmed slightly, a profound, dangerous secret dancing in his pupils. He took a slow sip of his aged tequila. "No, my boy. They don't. They think I am just a penniless old man living on a meager pension."

El Chivo smiled, pulling out a sleek, encrypted smartphone. "Then let's give them a wake-up call they will never forget. Let's see how fast they run when the crown starts to shine."
