CHAPTER 6 — The Real Mastermind Walked Into the Room

The Secretary unfolded the final document.
Every television camera zoomed in.
His hands were shaking.
"These signatures authorize the elimination of Captain Carter... and the cover-up afterward."
People leaned forward.
The first signature belonged to General Hayes.
The second...
made everyone gasp.
It belonged to Senator William Bradford—the country's most respected war hero turned presidential candidate.
The audience erupted.
"No way..."
"That's impossible!"
Before anyone could react, the giant doors of the hall swung open.
A convoy of black SUVs had arrived.
Secret Service agents rushed inside.
And behind them...
Senator Bradford walked calmly toward the stage.
He smiled as if nothing had happened.
"General Hayes has served this nation honorably," he announced. "These accusations are nothing but fabricated lies."
For a moment, confusion spread through the room.
Had America's most powerful politician come to save Hayes?
Emma quietly stepped forward.
Without saying a word, she connected one final device to the giant screen.
A hidden audio recording began to play.
Bradford's unmistakable voice echoed through the hall.
"If Daniel Carter survives... eliminate him. If you can't eliminate him... erase every record that proves he ever existed."
The Senator's smile vanished instantly.
His knees nearly buckled.
Outside, dozens of military helicopters thundered overhead.
Within seconds, federal investigators surrounded the entire building.
General Hayes lowered his head.
He finally understood.
May you like
He had never been the biggest villain in the story.
He had only been the man who carried out someone else's orders.
