CHAPTER 3 — The Secret Buried Beneath the Mountain

The rescue operation began before sunrise.

Helicopters circled above the mountain while dozens of firefighters, engineers, police officers, and search-and-rescue teams climbed over the massive pile of shattered rock.

Everyone believed their mission was simple:

Clear the railway.

Reopen the line.

Find the eagle's nest if possible.

No one expected history itself to emerge from beneath the mountain.

Mark stood quietly beside the locomotive, unable to stop thinking about the eagle.

Reporters had already arrived.

Passengers who had filmed the attack uploaded their videos online.

Within hours, millions of people were watching the mysterious bird slam its beak against the windshield again and again.

Some called it a miracle.

Others claimed it was impossible.

Mark didn't care what people believed.

He knew one thing.

Without that eagle, every person on the train would already be dead.

Then...

A rescue worker shouted from deep inside the landslide.

"Stop!"

Everyone froze.

"What is it?"

The man pointed toward a section of broken rock.

"There’s concrete down here."

Concrete?

That made no sense.

The railway had been built more than a hundred meters away from solid mountain walls.

As excavators carefully removed the debris, a perfectly smooth concrete arch slowly appeared.

Dust covered strange steel doors nearly hidden beneath decades of earth.

One engineer stared in disbelief.

"This wasn't on any railway map."

Another worker brushed away layers of dirt.

Faded military symbols appeared.

Along with rusted letters.

PROPERTY OF THE U.S. ARMY.

The entire rescue site fell silent.

"What is an army bunker doing here?"

No one had an answer.

Federal authorities arrived less than two hours later.

The entire mountain was suddenly declared a restricted area.

Black SUVs.

Military helicopters.

Men in dark uniforms carrying sealed briefcases.

Reporters were forced hundreds of meters away.

Passengers exchanged nervous glances.

"What are they hiding?"

Mark watched everything unfold from behind the police line.

He noticed something strange.

The eagle had returned.

It sat silently on a dead pine overlooking the excavation.

Watching.

Waiting.

Almost as though it already knew what was inside.

Engineers finally managed to force open the enormous steel doors.

Cold air rushed out.

Air that smelled untouched...

As if it had remained trapped for generations.

Powerful flashlights illuminated a tunnel disappearing into complete darkness.

The walls were perfectly preserved.

Old electrical wiring still hung from the ceiling.

Rows of abandoned military crates lined both sides.

One rescue worker whispered,

"This place looks like someone just walked away yesterday."

Then another voice echoed from deeper inside.

"You need to see this..."

The team hurried forward.

Their footsteps echoed through the endless tunnel.

Until they reached a gigantic underground chamber.

Everyone stopped breathing.

Dozens of military vehicles sat covered beneath dusty tarps.

Old communication equipment.

Fuel tanks.

Medical supplies.

Everything perfectly preserved.

It looked like an underground city.

But something was wrong.

Very wrong.

The heavy steel blast door at the far end...

Was standing wide open.

Someone...

Had already been inside.

Recently.

Fresh footprints covered the dusty floor.

Mark felt his stomach tighten.

May you like

The bunker hadn't just been discovered.

Someone had been using it.
