Chapter 4 - The Viral Ruin

Within three hours, the internet exploded. Elena had not just posted the video; she had sent it directly to the major Mexican news networks and Valeria’s biggest corporate sponsors.
The video was crystal clear: Santiago violently slapping his grandmother across the face. Mateo laughing and looking at his phone. Valeria clapping and mocking, "Hit him back if you dare."
The headline went viral on Facebook and X within minutes: #ValeriaVegaExposed: Fake Luxury Influencer Applauds Abuse of 66-Year-Old Matriarch.
The backlash was instant and brutal.
“Disgusting! Cancel her!”
“The poor grandmother! Look at her face!”
“The boy is a monster in the making. Excellent job, Grandma!”
By 4:00 PM, Valeria’s brand sponsorships dropped her like a hot stone. Luxe Cosmetics released a public statement severing all ties. Her follower count plummeted by hundreds of thousands per hour. Her account was flooded with millions of angry comments, forcing her to deactivate everything she had spent a decade building.
Meanwhile, Mateo’s business partners saw the forensic audit warnings and pulled their funding. His "investment firm" was exposed as a shell company designed to launder Elena’s trust money into Valeria’s lifestyle.
Forced out of the mansion with nothing but a few suitcases of clothes they hadn't yet paid off, the family of three was forced to check into a dingy, low-end motel on the outskirts of the city.
Santiago sat on a stained mattress, crying because there was no Wi-Fi. "I hate it here! I want my room! I want my Xbox!"

Mateo slammed his fists against the cracked wall. "It’s over. We are ruined. My mother has destroyed us."
"No," Valeria hissed, her eyes wild with malice. "She hasn't won yet. She thinks she’s safe in that big house? She forgot one thing. I still have the keys to the family vault in the basement. And I know what your father kept down there."
