Chapter 4 - THE SWISS VAULTBy 5:00 AM, the hospital room had transformed into a command center. Daniela, refusing pain medication that might fog her mind, sat propped up against three pillows with a high-powered laptop on her lap. Her physical injuries were severe, but her mind was operating at maximum processing capacity.

“Sebastián’s public relations team has already launched a media strike,” Renata reported, showing Daniela a series of news alerts on her tablet. “Local business outlets in Jalisco are reporting that you suffered a severe nervous breakdown, fell down the stairs during a panic attack, and are currently unfit to make business decisions.”
“Standard playbook,” Daniela said, her fingers flying across the keyboard. “He wants to freeze my corporate voting rights before the emergency board meeting at 9:00 AM today.”
“Can he do that?”
“He thinks he can because he holds the master administrative keys to the company’s internal servers,” Daniela smiled coldly. “He assumes that because he changed the passcodes on the office mainframe last night, I’m locked out. But Sebastián never understood software architecture. He bought the company name; I built the engine.”
Daniela entered a complex 64-character encryption key into her laptop.
Across the screen, lines of green code began to cascade down. A secure connection was established with a private data center in Zurich, Switzerland.
For six years, while Sebastián was physically abusing her and bragging about his financial genius to his wealthy friends, Daniela had quietly implemented a hidden mirrored architecture into every piece of code she wrote for Ledesma & Ortega Financial. Every illegal transaction, every laundered dollar from cartels and corrupt politicians, every offshore tax evasion account had been automatically duplicated and logged into this Swiss server.
“Look at this, Renata,” Daniela pointed to a massive spreadsheet opening before them.
“Mother of God...” Renata gasped, leaning in close. “Is that... drug money?”
“Not just drug money,” Daniela said softly. “It’s political bribes. Sebastián wasn't just managing wealth for legitimate clients. He was running a multi-billion-peso laundering pipeline for high-ranking government officials in Western Mexico. Look at these names.”
Renata’s eyes widened in horror as she read the list of account holders. District judges, police chiefs, state senators, and top corporate executives. Sebastián wasn't just a rich husband—he was the central financial hub for an entire syndicate of high-level corruption.
“Daniela... this is radioactive,” Renata warned, her voice trembling. “If Sebastián realizes you have this, he won't just try to sign over your shares. He will have you killed right here in this room.”
“He’s already tried to kill me, Renata,” Daniela said, her eye burning with terrifying resolve. “He failed. And now, I’m going to use his own empire to burn him to ashes.”
“What’s the plan for the 9:00 AM board meeting?” Renata asked.
“Sebastián thinks he’s going to preside over that meeting and declare me incapacitated,” Daniela said, pulling up a live video feed of the firm’s main corporate boardroom downtown. “He doesn't know that under our corporate charter—a charter I personally drafted—a 41% stakeholder who invokes 'Protocol Omega' can override the CEO’s authority and freeze all corporate capital instantly.”
“What is Protocol Omega?”
“It’s the kill-switch,” Daniela whispered, her hand hovering over the enter key. “It strips the CEO of all administrative power, locks all bank accounts globally, and transfers executive control directly to the founder who holds the master security key. Me.”
“If you press that key, Sebastián will lose every cent within ten seconds,” Renata breathed.
May you like
“No,” Daniela corrected her, a dark smile spreading across her bruised lips. “He won't just lose his money. He’ll owe billions to very dangerous people who don't take excuses.”
Daniela slammed her finger down on the key.
