Chapter 5 - THE BOARDROOM MASSACREAt 8:45 AM, the executive boardroom on the top floor of the prestigious Ledesma Tower in Valle Real was filled with power players. Board members in impeccably tailored suits drank expensive espresso, chatting quietly about the rumors surrounding Daniela Ortega’s 'mental collapse.'

At the head of the long mahogany table sat Sebastián Ledesma. His left hand was heavily bandaged—the result of Daniela jamming a silver pen into it the night before—but his face was calm, arrogant, and triumphant.

“Thank you all for coming on such short notice,” Sebastián announced, standing up and sweeping his eyes across the room. “As you know, my beloved wife Daniela suffered a tragic fall down our home staircase yesterday. The physical trauma, combined with an ongoing mental health crisis, has left her unable to perform her duties as Chief Technology Officer and minor shareholder.”

He motioned to his legal assistant, who began distributing thick leather-bound folders to each board member.

“These documents detail her medical status and request an immediate emergency transfer of her 41% voting rights to my office,” Sebastián continued smooth as silk. “This is for the protection of the firm and the stability of our clients' capital.”

Before any board member could open their folder, the giant 85-inch presentation screen at the front of the room flashed bright red.

A loud, piercing alarm echoed through the boardroom speakers.

“SYSTEM OVERRIDE INITIATED,” a mechanical voice boomed from the sound system. “SECURITY PROTOCOL OMEGA ACTIVATED BY FOUNDER DANIELA ORTEGA.”

The room erupted into chaos. Board members jumped from their seats as their laptops and smartphones suddenly locked up, displaying a pulsing red logo of a broken crown.

“What is the meaning of this?!” shouted Don Roberto Valles, one of the firm's major investors and a powerful political figure. “Ledesma! What is happening to our accounts?!”

Sebastián’s face drained of all color. He rushed to his master console at the head of the table, frantically typing in his administrator password.

“ACCESS DENIED,” the screen flashed. “USER SEBASTIÁN LEDESMA: TERMINATED.”

“No... no, no, no!” Sebastián screamed, hammering his fists against the keyboard. “This is impossible! I changed the server passcodes!”

Suddenly, the red screen vanished, replaced by a crystal-clear high-definition video feed broadcast directly from Daniela’s ICU room.

There sat Daniela, wearing a hospital gown, her bruised face fully visible to the entire board, looking calm, sharp, and utterly merciless. Beside her stood Renata Cárdenas, along with two federal agents in dark suits.

“Good morning, gentlemen,” Daniela’s voice echoed powerfully through the boardroom speakers. “I apologize for missing the meeting in person. As you can see, my husband’s definition of 'a minor fall' left me with three broken ribs and a collapsed lung.”

The board members turned to stare at Sebastián in absolute horror.

“Daniela!” Sebastián roared at the screen, his composure completely shattering. “Turn this off! You’re insane! You’re ruining the company!”

“I built this company, Sebastián,” Daniela said coldly. “And as of three minutes ago, I used Protocol Omega to execute my legal rights as majority system architect. All corporate accounts managed by Ledesma & Ortega Financial have been frozen worldwide. The 2.4 billion pesos currently in transit through our offshore accounts in Grand Cayman? Locked.”

Don Roberto Valles sprang up, his face turning purple with rage. “What did you say?! 2.4 billion pesos?! That’s my money! That’s capital from my political campaign!”

“Not anymore, Don Roberto,” Daniela replied directly through the camera. “Because ten minutes ago, my attorney submitted the unencrypted transaction logs to the Mexican Federal Tax Authority and the U.S. Department of Justice. Every single dollar of laundered money in this firm has been exposed.”

Sebastián stumbled backward, his knees trembling so violently he nearly fell.

“You crazy bitch...” Sebastián gasped, sweat pouring down his forehead. “You destroyed us all!”

“No, Sebastián,” Daniela said, her voice dropping to a terrifying whisper that silenced the entire room. “I didn't destroy us. I destroyed you. Check your phone.”

Sebastián’s phone buzzed on the table. With shaking hands, he picked it up.

It was a automated notification from his personal bank: “Account Balance: $0.00 MXN. All personal assets frozen under Federal Fraud Order #8821.”
