Chapter 3 - The Million-Dollar Honeymoon in St. Moritz

Six thousand miles away from the freezing peaks of Colorado, the air was warm, sweet, and scented with expensive French champagne and alpine pine.

The Grand Chalet of St. Moritz was the crown jewel of Swiss luxury. Outside its floor-to-ceiling glass windows, pristine ski slopes shimmered under brilliant golden floodlights, while inside, fireplaces crackled with dry birch wood and elite billionaires rubbed shoulders with international royalty.

In the penthouse suite—rented at fifty thousand dollars a night—Damian Voss stood by the private balcony, swirling a glass of twenty-year-old single malt scotch.

He wore a custom cashmere sweater that accentuated his broad shoulders and commanding posture. From the outside, he was the picture of effortless power: a man who possessed unlimited wealth, absolute control, and a mistress whose beauty dominated the European fashion scene.

The bedroom door clicked open, and Vivienne Vance stepped out onto the balcony, wrapped in a white silk robe that clung to her sleek frame. She slid her arms around Damian’s waist, pressing her cheek against his back.

"You're quiet tonight, my king," Vivienne murmured, trailing her manicured fingers up his chest. "Penny for your thoughts? Or are you regretting leaving your little mountain bird behind in the snow?"

Damian didn't flinch. He set his glass down on the stone railing, his dark eyes scanning the glittering lights of the Swiss village below.

"Elena is fine," Damian said flatly, his voice devoid of any emotional weight. "She has the staff. She has security. She knows how to manage herself."

"She looked rather... fragile when we left," Vivienne purred, a predatory smile playing on her lips. "Almost pathetic, standing there in the snow like a abandoned stray dog. Are you sure she won't try to cause a scene? Call the press? File for divorce?"

"Elena doesn't have the stomach for a war," Damian said with absolute, arrogant certainty. "She came from nothing. I pulled her out of a quiet, ordinary life and gave her a name, a home, and security. Without me, she is nothing. She will wait in that house until I return, and she will apologize for her hysterics."

He turned around, wrapping a heavy hand around the back of Vivienne’s neck and pulling her in for a slow, possessive kiss. Vivienne sighed into his mouth, completely intoxicated by his ruthless dominance.

To Damian Voss, people were pieces on a chessboard. They moved when he commanded, they stayed where he placed them, and they never dared to overthrow the king.

His phone, resting on the mahogany side table inside the suite, buzzed once.

It was a silent notification from the private satellite relay at Black Pine. Damian glanced at it lazily, expecting the automated daily security report confirming the perimeter gates were locked and the house was secure.

Instead, the screen read: System Alert: Master Safe Accessed.

Damian’s eyebrows drew together in a sharp, dangerous line.

"Is something wrong?" Vivienne asked, noticing the sudden shift in his posture.

Damian ignored her. He snatched the phone off the table, his thumb swiping rapidly across the screen to access the estate’s internal security camera feeds.

The live feed from the master suite hallway showed absolute darkness, followed by the emergency backup lights flickering against the stone walls. But the camera angle facing his walk-in closet revealed something that made his blood run instantly cold.

The heavy steel door of his floor safe was wide open.

And the leather ledger containing his offshore accounts, shell company listings, and the Vance Holdings portfolio was completely, undeniably gone.

For the first time in ten years, the legendary crime lord felt a shiver of pure, unadulterated panic crawl up his spine.

"Damian?" Vivienne asked, her voice trembling slightly as she saw the dark, terrifying expression on his face. "What is it?"

"Pack our bags," Damian said, his voice dropping an octave into a low, lethal growl that could shatter glass. "We are going back to Colorado. Right now."
