Chapter 7 - The Final Chess Move

Before Damian could process the words, the heavy double doors of the suite flew open.
Four Swiss federal police officers, flanked by Interpol agents in crisp suits, marched into the room. Their hands rested on the holstered firearms at their hips.
"Damian Voss," the lead Interpol agent announced, pulling out an international warrant and reading it aloud in crisp, authoritative English. "You are under arrest for international money laundering, tax evasion, racketeering, and corporate fraud."
Damian didn't even look at the police. His dark, furious eyes remained locked entirely on Elena.
"You did this," Damian hissed, his voice trembling with a mixture of rage and absolute shock as the officers stepped forward, grabbing his arms and forcing his hands behind his back to snap the steel handcuffs into place. "You set me up. Every single shell corporation... every federal audit... it was all you."
"It was justice, Damian," Elena said calmly, standing tall as she adjusted the cuffs of her emerald gown. "You taught me how the underworld works. You taught me that weakness is a sin and that power belongs to those who take it. I simply learned your lessons better than you did."
"You won't get away with this!" Damian roared, struggling against the officers as they dragged him toward the exit. "Voss Global is my life! My legacy!"
"Your legacy died the night you walked out that door into the snow," Elena replied, her voice echoing coldly through the grand suite.
As the doors slammed shut behind him, sealing his fate forever, the massive suite fell into a profound, heavy silence.

Elena walked slowly out onto the private balcony, gripping the cold stone railing. Below her, the glittering lights of Zurich danced across the dark, tranquil waters of the lake. Far above the city, the eternal peaks of the Swiss Alps stood tall, silent, and majestic against the starlit sky.
She reached down, touching the small, elegant platinum ring on her finger. She had survived the storm. She had built an empire from the ashes of her own heartbreak. And she had ensured that the man who thought he owned the world would spend the rest of his life behind bars, stripped of everything he held dear.
