Chapter 4 - "EXPOSE THEM ALL": THE TAPE THAT BROKE THE INTERNETThat night, at 9:00 PM, Ryan Miller held a live press conference on the steps of the Cook County Courthouse, surrounded by high-priced public relations handlers and his mother, Linda, who was wearing a neck brace to feign injury from the "violent military raid."

"My wife, Emily, is a sick woman," Ryan lied smoothly to the dozens of news cameras and reporters gathered around him. "Her father, Colonel James Bennett, used military personnel to illegally break into our private residence, assault my mother, and kidnap my pregnant wife under the guise of fake military charges! This is an outrage! An abuse of military power against an innocent American family!"
Linda whimpered dramatically for the cameras, wiping away fake tears. "We only loved her! We took care of her! Colonel Bennett is a tyrant who couldn't accept that his daughter chose us over him!"
The news broadcast was airing live across national networks. Sitting in my hospital room, watching the television, my blood boiled. They were turning the entire country against my father, painting him as a rogue military dictator while playing the victims.
"They're going to destroy your career, Dad," I wept, watching the news feed.
Colonel Bennett stood next to the TV, holding a remote control. He was completely unbothered.
"In warfare, Emily," Bennett said calmly, "you always let the enemy overextend their lines before you trigger the trap. Watch this."
At precisely 9:15 PM, as Ryan was answering questions from reporters, every major news broadcast across the nation suddenly experienced a feed interruption. The screens flickered with static, replaced by a dark screen with bold red letters: DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE SPECIAL EVIDENTIARY RELEASE.
Simultaneously, across every social media platform—Facebook, X, YouTube, and news portals—a video began auto-playing. It wasn't a leak; it was an official press release broadcast directly from the Pentagon's media division.
The video showed the high-definition security footage captured by the hidden cameras military intelligence had recovered from Ryan’s apartment.
The entire nation watched in horror as the video played:
There was Ryan, yelling at me while I sat huddled on the floor, slapping my face when I refused to hand over my military ID.
There was Linda, forcing a bitter pill into my mouth while mocking my tears, saying, 'Drink it! Nobody cares about you! You're just a paycheck for us!'
And finally, the crystal-clear audio of Ryan talking on the phone to his gambling syndicate representative: "Don't worry, the bitch will be dead within a month after the baby comes. The five million insurance payout will be clear."
The entire country watched it in real-time. Within four minutes, the video accumulated over thirty million views. The comment sections exploded with fury.
On live television, the reporters standing in front of Ryan received the alert on their phones. They looked at their screens, then looked up at Ryan with absolute horror and disgust.
"Mr. Miller!" a reporter shouted, thrusting a microphone in his face. "Is this video authentic? Did you attempt to murder your pregnant wife for insurance money?!"
Ryan’s face turned ghostly white. He looked at the reporter's phone screen and saw his own face declaring his plot to murder me. Linda gasped, taking off her neck brace in panic as the crowd of reporters surged forward, screaming questions.
"Turn off the cameras! Turn them off!" Ryan shrieked, backing away.
"You are a monster!" a woman in the crowd screamed, throwing a cup of coffee directly at Linda's face.
Before Ryan and Linda could reach their limousine, four unmarked black SUVs tore into the court plaza, tires screeching. Dozens of federal agents from the FBI and the Department of Justice spilled out, weapons drawn.
"Ryan Miller! Linda Miller!" the lead federal agent shouted through a bullhorn. "You are under federal arrest for wire fraud, attempted murder, human trafficking, and conspiracy to commit high treason! Drop to the ground now!"
The crowd cheered as federal agents slammed Ryan onto the cold pavement, pinning him down in front of live national news cameras. Linda was shoved against the hood of a police car, crying hysterically as her luxury lifestyle evaporated in a matter of seconds.
In the hospital room, I watched my tormentors dragged away in chains on live national television.

Colonel Bennett turned off the TV, walked over to my bed, and kissed my forehead.
"Phase one is complete," he said quietly. "Now, we begin phase two: the courtroom."
