Chapter 7 - The Empire ReclaimedTwo weeks after the trial concluded, the liquidation of Ashford Global Logistics was finalized.

The corporate headquarters in Manhattan was officially renamed Vale Dominion Logistics (New York Division). The bronze letters bearing Nathan’s name had been stripped from the facade, replaced by the clean, silver insignia of my father’s global conglomerate.

Inside the executive office on the 42nd floor—the very room where Nathan had once stood gloating over his supposed invincibility—I sat behind the massive glass desk.

The morning sun poured through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting long, clean lines across the polished white marble floor. There were no whips here. No hidden cameras. No terror.

Just absolute, unshakeable control.

The office door opened quietly. My father walked in, holding two cups of black coffee. He set one down on the desk in front of me before walking over to look out at the harbor.

"The federal marshals transferred Nathan to ADX Florence this morning," Elias said quietly. "Maximum security. No communications privileges outside immediate family legal counsel—which he can't afford anyway."

I took a sip of the coffee, letting the familiar bitterness warm my tongue.

"And Celeste?" I asked.

"State penitentiary in upstate New York," Elias replied without turning around. "Her mother's offshore assets were fully seized to pay restitution to the institutional investors Nathan scammed. She’ll spend the next two decades wondering what happened to her champagne."

Elias turned back, walking slowly over to the desk. He looked down at me, a rare, proud smile touching the corners of his mouth.

"You did well, Elena," he said. "Better than I expected. You took a man’s arrogance and used it to dismantle his entire world from the inside out."

"I learned from the best," I replied, looking up at him.

"What’s your next move?" Elias asked, resting his hands on the back of the leather executive chair. "Vale Dominion has three open regional directorates across Europe and Asia. You want to run the London branch? Or perhaps Singapore?"

I stood up slowly, smoothing the fabric of my jacket, and walked over to the glass wall, looking out over the sprawling empire below.

"I don't want London, Dad," I said, my voice steady and clear. "And I don't want Singapore."

Elias raised an eyebrow. "Then what do you want?"

I turned to face him, a calm, resolute smile touching my lips.

"I want the entire global portfolio. Every shipping lane, every financial intelligence node, every subsidiary."

I walked past him toward the heavy double doors of the office, stopping just long enough to look back over my shoulder.

"Nathan thought he could erase me by trying to break my back," I said softly. "Now, it's time to show the rest of the world what happens when a Vale takes the throne."
