Chapter 13 - Blood and SteelWhat followed was twenty minutes of absolute chaos inside the luxury mansion.

Michael, driven by sheer animalistic survival instincts, burst from the basement like a maniac, tackling the first two mercenaries who breached the lower hallway, stealing their weapons and tearing through his former employers' men.
Meanwhile, Marcus stood at the top of the grand marble staircase, firing frantically to keep the strike team from reaching the master server room. Bullets shredded the priceless artwork, shattered crystal chandeliers, and turned the walls to dust.
Inside the server room, Emily watched the progress bar on her computer screen: UPLOAD STATUS: 78%... 79%...
BANG!
A breaching charge exploded on the server room door. The steel door blew inward, knocking Emily to the ground. A tall, imposing officer in tactical gear stepped through the smoke, holding a heavy sidearm pointed directly at her chest.
He pulled off his helmet, revealing a sharp, cruel face with a long scar across his eye.
"Hello, Emily," the commander sneered. "Your father was a stubborn man, too. He thought he could expose us. Look where that got him—a 'heart attack' in his own office."
Emily bled from a cut on her forehead, but her gaze was lethal. "You murdered my father."

"It was just business," the commander smiled, raising his gun to her forehead. "And now, it's time to close your account."
Chapter Hook: Before the commander could pull the trigger, a blood-soaked hand reached through the smoke behind him, jamming a shattered piece of glass directly into the commander's neck. It was Michael.
