CHAPTER 3 – The Woman in the Last Row
The woman’s voice shook as she walked toward the front.
“My name is Grace Miller,” she said. “I was Ethan’s father’s assistant.”
The businessman’s lawyer turned white.
Grace looked at Ethan.
“Your father didn’t die because of an accident. He died because he found the truth.”
Then she placed a sealed envelope on the judge’s desk.
Inside were bank records, photos, and one final letter.
But the most terrifying thing was written at the bottom:
“If they silence me, protect my son. He is the only one who knows where the real evidence is hidden.”
Ethan’s mother covered her mouth.
She had thought Ethan was just a grieving boy.
But Ethan slowly stepped down from the witness stand and looked at the businessman.
“My dad hid it in the one place you were too arrogant to search.”
The businessman screamed, “Shut him up!”
Two officers grabbed him before he could move.
Ethan turned to the judge and whispered:
“It’s inside your courtroom.”
The judge froze.
Everyone watched as Ethan walked toward the old wooden flag stand behind the bench.
He reached underneath it…
…and pulled out a tiny black memory card.
The courtroom fell silent.
Because that memory card didn’t just prove one murder.
