CHAPTER 1 – "Daddy… Why Did You Leave Us?"

The ballroom looked like something out of a fairy tale.

Crystal chandeliers sparkled above hundreds of guests. White roses lined the aisle. Cameras flashed as Ethan Parker, the city's youngest millionaire, waited confidently at the altar for the love of his life.

Everything was perfect.

Until the church doors slowly opened.

A little girl, no older than six, stepped inside wearing a faded blue dress that looked painfully out of place among the luxury surrounding her.

She wasn't crying.

She wasn't scared.

She simply walked down the aisle as if she belonged there.

The music stopped.

Every guest turned.

The bride frowned.

"Whose child is that?"

The wedding planner rushed toward her, but before anyone could stop the little girl, she reached the groom.

She gently tugged on his tuxedo sleeve.

"Daddy..."

The word echoed through the silent ballroom.

Ethan froze.

His face drained of every drop of color.

The little girl's tiny voice trembled.

"Daddy... Mommy said you promised you'd come back."

Gasps exploded across the room.

The bride stared at Ethan in disbelief.

"What... did she just call you?"

Ethan opened his mouth...

...but no words came out.

The child slowly reached into her small backpack and pulled out an old family photograph.

It showed Ethan.

Years younger.

Holding a newborn baby in his arms.

His signature was clearly written across the bottom.

"Forever my little miracle."

The bride's bouquet slipped from her hands.

The guests erupted into whispers.

"Does he already have a daughter?"

"Was he married before?"

"Has he been lying to everyone?"

Ethan desperately shook his head.

"No... this isn't what it looks like."

But before he could explain, another voice echoed from the entrance.

"Don't lie to them anymore."

Every head turned.

A pale woman stood in the doorway.

Her clothes were simple.

Her face showed years of exhaustion.

But her eyes never left Ethan.

"I never wanted to ruin your wedding," she said quietly.

"But after six years... our daughter deserves to know why her father disappeared."

The ballroom fell into complete silence.

The bride slowly stepped away from Ethan.

"You told me you never had children."

"I..."

"You swore there were no secrets."

Ethan looked trapped.

Cornered.

For the first time in years, the powerful businessman looked completely helpless.

Then...

The little girl smiled and innocently asked the question that shattered everyone in the room.

"Daddy... are you going to leave us again?"

No one noticed the elderly man sitting quietly in the last row.

He slowly stood up.

Straightened his expensive suit.

And whispered to himself...

"He's about to lose far more than a wedding."

Because hidden inside his briefcase...

...was a sealed envelope containing a DNA report.

A report that would prove the little girl wasn't Ethan's daughter at all.

But if Ethan wasn't her father...
