CHAPTER 3 — The Last King Falls

Marcus's confidence vanished.

His rifle slipped from his hands.

The quiet maid he had ignored every day now stood surrounded by elite operatives.

Vincent stared at Isabella.

"Who are you?"

She answered without emotion.

"I work for the only organization powerful enough to destroy every mafia family on this continent."

Marcus laughed nervously.

"The FBI?"

She shook her head.

"No."

"The people the FBI calls when corruption reaches the FBI."

Even Vincent had never heard that name spoken aloud.

For three years...

Isabella had lived inside his mansion.

Not to spy on him.

To protect him.

Because intelligence agencies had discovered someone was eliminating every old mafia leader across the country.

Vincent had never been the mastermind.

He had always been the final target.

Father Gabriel slowly applauded.

"Excellent."

"But you're still too late."

He pressed a hidden switch.

Explosives beneath the church activated.

The entire floor began to collapse.

Chaos erupted.

Marcus grabbed Father Gabriel.

"You promised I'd rule everything!"

The old man smiled.

"I lied."

Then he shoved Marcus backward.

Marcus crashed into the collapsing floor.

Vincent instinctively reached for him.

Marcus looked up with tears filling his eyes.

"Uncle..."

"I'm sorry..."

Vincent grabbed his wrist.

For one brief moment...

he saw not the traitor.

But the frightened boy he had raised after his brother died.

Then another explosion ripped through the church.

The stone beneath Marcus gave way.

His fingers slipped.

He disappeared into the darkness below.

Silence.

Father Gabriel tried to escape through a hidden tunnel.

Isabella fired one precise shot.

The bullet struck his shoulder.

He collapsed before reaching the exit.

Minutes later...

government helicopters circled overhead.

Agents flooded the ruins.

Father Gabriel's secret files exposed politicians, judges, businessmen, and crime bosses across three countries.

The greatest criminal conspiracy in decades collapsed overnight.

Weeks later...

Vincent stood alone inside his rebuilt mansion.

He looked at the empty hallway where Isabella used to quietly mop the marble floor every morning.

She had already disappeared.

No goodbye.

No reward.

Only a sealed envelope.

Inside was one handwritten sentence.

"The strongest people are never the loudest. They're the ones nobody notices until they save the world."

Vincent folded the note carefully.

The most feared mafia boss in the city finally understood the greatest lesson of his life.

Power wasn't built by fear.

It was protected by the people everyone else ignored.

And somewhere...

under a different name...

wearing another ordinary uniform...

May you like

the woman once known as the maid had already begun her next impossible mission.

THE END
