CHAPTER 10 — The Last Bullet

The old railway platform became silent.
Giovanni stood only twenty feet away.
His mercenaries aimed their rifles.
Vincent slowly stepped in front of his family.
"If you want revenge..."
"Take me."
Giovanni laughed.
"This stopped being about revenge decades ago."
"It's about legacy."
He raised his pistol.
"I erased Alessandro."
"I erased your brother."
"I erased the truth."
"And now..."
"I erase the last Torino."
His finger tightened on the trigger.
BANG!
The shot echoed through the tunnel.
Giovanni looked down in confusion.
Blood spread across his chest.
Not his target's...
His own.
Everyone turned.
Marcus stood behind him.
Smoke rose from the barrel of his pistol.
"I believed your lies my entire life."
Marcus's voice trembled.
"But you made one mistake."
"You taught me to recognize monsters."
Giovanni slowly fell to his knees.
His eyes remained fixed on Marcus.
"You..."
"...were supposed to replace me."
Marcus lowered the gun.
"No."
"I'm here to end you."
Giovanni collapsed onto the railway tracks.
The man who had manipulated families, governments, and criminal empires for thirty years died without another word.
Silence followed.
Then...
A distant rumble.
Tony's face changed.
"The bomb!"
Everyone sprinted through the railway tunnel as fast as they could.
Exactly fifteen seconds after they reached the surface—
The earth shook.
A thunderous explosion ripped through the hillside.
The entire Torino mansion collapsed into a cloud of fire, smoke, and shattered stone.
The empire that had ruled the city for three decades disappeared in a single blast.
Days later...
Police uncovered thousands of secret files buried beneath the ruins.
Corrupt politicians resigned.
Judges were arrested.
International crime networks collapsed one after another.
The city slowly began healing.
Months later...
Vincent stood beside a quiet lake outside the city.
No bodyguards.
No expensive suits.
No weapons.
Only family.
Marcus walked beside him with a cane, still recovering from his injuries.
Isabella held Vincent's hand for the first time in years.
Tony smiled as he prepared a small barbecue.
And Elena quietly looked across the water.
Vincent approached her.
"What will you do now?"
She smiled softly.
"For the first time in my life..."
"I get to choose."
Vincent nodded.
"You saved my life."
"You saved my son."
"You saved this family."
She reached into her pocket and handed him a small envelope.
"I almost forgot."
Vincent opened it.
Inside was one final photograph.
It showed Vincent and Alessandro Rossi standing together as young men, smiling with their arms around each other's shoulders.
Written on the back, in Alessandro's handwriting, were the words:
"Brothers are chosen by loyalty, not by blood."
Vincent looked toward the sunrise with tears in his eyes.
He finally understood the lesson that had taken a lifetime to learn.
Power built his empire.
Fear protected it.
But only truth...
May you like
...saved his family.
THE END.
