Chapter 8 - The Document That Changes EverythingDaniel stepped up onto the stage, stopping just inches from his grandmother. He didn't look angry; he looked terrifyingly calm.

“She isn't a street vendor, Grandmother,” Daniel said, his voice carrying clearly across the silent ballroom. “She is the mother of my three unborn children. And the rightful majority shareholder of Ezeani Holdings.”

Whispers erupted like wildfire through the crowd. Vanessa gasped, dropping her champagne glass.

“You are out of your mind!” Beatrice hissed, trembling with fury. “You are stripped of your inheritance! I disown you!”

“You can't disown what you no longer own, Beatrice,” a calm, steady voice interrupted.

The senior corporate lawyer stepped forward, holding a thick, leather-bound document folder up high.

“Allow me to introduce myself,” the lawyer announced to the stunned crowd. “I am Chief Legal Counsel for the Ezeani Estate Trust. Two years ago, before Daniel’s father passed away, he executed a secret codicil in his will. If any heir to the Ezeani empire ever attempted to manipulate, abuse, or illegally seize corporate assets—or if an heir married someone of their own choosing and produced direct descendants—the entirety of the voting shares would instantly transfer to that direct bloodline, bypassing the matriarchal council entirely.”

The lawyer opened the folder, displaying a notarized holographic signature and biometric thumbprint.

“The signature has been verified. The children Amara carries right now are the primary legal beneficiaries of seventy percent of Ezeani Holdings. Daniel is the executor of the trust.”
