The Neonatal ICU was surrounded by local police officers, their guns drawn. Dr. Harrison and a perfectly composed Eleanor Vance stood behind them.

"There she is!" Eleanor shrieked, putting on a masterful performance of a grieving, terrified mother. "She has my stepson! She's trying to steal my newborn baby! Please, save my children!"

Claire stepped out of the elevator, holding Leo tightly. "Don't shoot! She's lying! This man, Arthur Vance, is a fraud! He's trying to steal these children to steal an inheritance!"

"Step away from the boy, Nurse Bennett," the Police Captain commanded, his weapon trained on her chest. "We have verified the birth records provided by Dr. Harrison. The baby belongs to Eleanor Vance. You are committing a felony."

Arthur Vance emerged from the stairwell, coughing slightly but looking triumphant. He walked up next to the Captain. "Thank you, Captain. Terminate the threat if she makes a single sudden movement."

Claire looked around. She was trapped. The glass walls of the NICU showed baby Lily sleeping peacefully in an incubator just twenty feet away, completely oblivious to the war being fought over her life. Dr. Harrison smiled a cold, victorious smile. They had won. They had the wealth, the police, the records, and the power.

Leo looked up at Claire, tears streaming down his face. "Nurse Claire... are they going to hurt Lily?"

Claire looked at the billionaire, then at the police captain. She realized that trying to convince the police with words in this corrupt environment was useless. She needed a bigger stage. She needed the world to watch.

Slowly, Claire reached into her pocket. The bodyguards flinched, raising their weapons.

But she didn't pull out a gun. She pulled out her smartphone.

With a swift swipe of her thumb, she initiated a live broadcast to a massive, viral social media news platform she had a contact at, broadcasting directly to millions of viewers in real-time.

"My name is Claire Bennett," she spoke clearly into the camera, holding it up high so the police, Arthur Vance, and the entire hallway were in frame. "I am currently at St. Jude’s Maternity Ward. If I am shot or arrested, let it be known that Billionaire Arthur Vance and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Harrison are currently attempting to traffic a newborn baby and have hidden the biological mother, Clara Miller!"
