Chapter 9 - The Final Collapse of the Ice QueenSilence descended upon the penthouse, broken only by the gentle hum of the city lights outside and the quiet, hiccuping sniffling of the little girls.

Grant stood frozen, staring at the handcuffs on his mother’s wrists as she was held between two federal agents.

“You... you betrayed me, Arthur,” Eleanor hissed, her voice shaking with impotent rage as she glared at the old family doctor. “After forty years of loyalty...!”

“Loyalty has a breaking point, Eleanor,” Dr. Sterling replied quietly, his eyes filled with sorrow. “And selling your own granddaughters into the slums crossed a line I could never forgive.”

Dr. Sterling turned to Grant, opening a separate manila folder and handing it to him.

“Grant... these are the authentic hospital records from five years ago,” Dr. Sterling said softly. “Your daughters didn't die at birth. Your mother bribed the coroner, faked the death certificates, and had them placed with a corrupt foster broker to punish Elena for marrying outside your social class. I kept copies hidden in my safety deposit box all these years, praying for the day I could bring them to light.”

Grant looked down at the papers. His hands shook violently. There were the original footprints. The medical signatures. The undeniable proof that Norah and Hazel were his flesh and blood.

He dropped to his knees right in front of the sofa.

Norah and Hazel stared at him, tears still wet on their cheeks. Slowly, hesitantly, Norah reached out, her small fingers touching Grant’s cheek.

“Are... are we going away?” Norah whispered, her voice breaking.

Grant pulled both girls into his arms, crushing them against his chest as the tears he had held back for five long years finally broke free. He buried his face in their tangled dark hair, sobbing with a mixture of overwhelming grief and boundless joy.

“No,” Grant choked out, his voice thick with emotion. “You are never going anywhere. You are home. You are my daughters, and I am your daddy. Forever.”

Behind them, Eleanor Whitmore was led away in handcuffs, her empire, her reputation, and her power crumbling into dust as the elevator doors closed, sealing her fate forever.
