Chapter 5 - THE BLOOD PRICE 💥Viral Hook Title: SHE UNZIPPED THE SURGICAL SHEET... AND THE BRIDE SPELLS OUT A TERRIFYING WARNING IN BLOOD!The operating room was freezing, sterile, and smelled overwhelmingly of antiseptic chemicals and blood.

In the center of the room, under massive, glowing surgical spotlights, lay Victoria Vance.
She was stripped of her white wedding dress, covered only by a thin blue surgical sheet. Dozens of plastic tubes were hooked into her arms, neck, and legs, pumping cold saline and clear chemicals into her bloodstream. Monitors clicked and hummed softly around her, showing a steady, artificially slowed heart rate of 42 beats per minute.
Her eyes were wide open, staring fixedly at the ceiling lights. Tears had dried on her cheeks, leaving white, salty tracks.
Elena rushed to the side of the operating table. "Victoria!"
Victoria’s eyes rolled toward Elena. A flash of profound shock and desperation filled her pupils.
"I'm here. I'm going to get you out of here," Elena whispered frantically, pulling out her pair of surgical shears. She began cutting the heavy leather straps securing Victoria’s wrists and ankles to the metal table.
Victoria’s lips twitched, but her vocal cords were deadened by the nerve toxin. She couldn't speak.
Elena yanked out the IV needles from Victoria’s arm. "Can you move at all? Can you feel your feet?"
Victoria slowly, agonizingly shook her head no. The paralysis was complete.
"Okay... okay, I’ll carry you," Elena said, leaning down to lift Victoria’s frail body off the table.
Suddenly, Victoria’s hand—the right hand that had just been freed—swung upward with incredible, desperate effort. Her fingers, stiff and pale, grabbed Elena’s white lab coat coat pocket.
With her long, manicured fingernail, Victoria dragged her finger across the silver tray sitting beside her bed, knocking over a glass dish of surgical iodine. The dark red liquid spilled onto the white metal tray.
Victoria dipped her index finger into the red liquid and frantically dragged it across the tray surface, writing three letters before her strength gave out:
D - O - N
Elena frowned, staring at the letters. "Don? Don't?"
Victoria shook her head violently, her eyes filled with frantic horror. She used the last ounce of her strength to tap the metal tray twice, pointing toward the heavy double doors at the far end of the room—the doors leading to Suite A, where Senator Vance was being prepped.
Then, Victoria raised her finger again and completed the word:
D - O - N - O - R - S
Elena’s breath hitched. "Donors? Plural?"
Victoria blinked twice—yes.
Elena slowly turned around, looking toward the sealed double doors leading to Suite A.
"There's... someone else in there?" Elena whispered.
Victoria nodded her head slightly, fresh tears welling in her eyes.
Elena walked slowly toward the observation window connecting Suite B to Suite A. She wiped away the condensation on the glass and peered inside.
What she saw made her stomach turn violently.
Suite A was not just an operating room for Senator Vance. It was a mass harvest facility.
Line up along the far wall were four glass cryogenic chambers, illuminated by eerie green lights. Inside three of the chambers were young, athletic-looking individuals—a young man in a sports uniform, a woman in a business suit, and a teenager—all suspended in clear liquid, hooked up to life-support machines with yellowing tags hanging from their wrists.
They were previous "donors." Missing people whose deaths had been faked, kept alive in stasis as living organ banks for the Vance family empire.
And in the center of Suite A, lying on an operating table, was Senator Edward Vance—an frail, ancient man with a terrifyingly sunken face, connected to a dialysis machine. Standing over him was Dr. Aris and Julian Vance.
"The girl's tissue is ready for extraction, Senator," Dr. Aris was saying through an intercom speaker that echoed softly into Suite B. "Once we transfer her heart and liver, your body will regenerate cellular strength within seventy-two hours."
"What about her family?" the old Senator rasped, his voice sounding like dry leaves grinding together.
"Her family believes she died of a sudden heart attack at her altar," Julian answered smoothly, leaning over his father. "We bought off the medical examiner. The public mourns her. No one will ever search for her."
Elena backed away from the window, her whole body shaking with rage and disgust. This wasn't just a murder—this was a systematic human harvesting factory operated by the most powerful elites in the city.
She ran back to Victoria, wrapping a thick blanket around her limp body. "I'm not leaving them behind, but I have to get you out first!"
Elena slid her arms under Victoria’s back and legs, lifting the paralyzed bride off the operating table. Victoria was surprisingly light, her body warm but limp as a ragdoll.
Elena made it to the operating room door, pushing it open with her shoulder.
She stepped out into the hallway—and ran directly into Julian Vance.
Julian was holding a silver pistol in his hand. Behind him stood three armed guards with tactical shotguns.

Julian looked down at Victoria in Elena’s arms, then up at Elena’s terrified face. His eyes were cold, dark, and utterly devoid of human warmth.
"You really are a persistent pest, Elena," Julian said softly, raising the barrel of the gun and aiming it directly between Elena’s eyes. "Did you really think you could steal my bride away twice?"
