🖤 CHAPTER 3: The Ultimate Plot Twist

The brothers were thrown into separate interrogation rooms. The evidence against them was airtight—bank statements, audio logs, and eyewitness coordinates of their yacht that night. They were facing life in prison without parole.
As Daniel sat sweating under the harsh fluorescent lights, the door opened. But it wasn't the detective.
It was Emily.
She looked radiant, dressed in a flawless white suit, completely unharmed. Daniel lunged at the glass separating them, his face twisted in rage. "You setup! You ruined us! You bitch, I should have strangled you myself!"
Emily didn't look angry. She actually smiled—a chilling, pitying smile.
"You always were the stupider one, Daniel," she whispered through the intercom.
Daniel paused, confused. "What?"
"Did you really think I just wanted to put you in jail?" Emily leaned in close to the glass. "Six months ago, I didn't just learn how to swim. I learned who you really were. And I realized... I didn't want to just be a victim. I wanted everything."
She pulled a document from her purse and pressed it against the glass. It was a signed confession and a power-of-attorney transfer, giving full control of the Vance Empire and all hidden offshore accounts to Emily.
The signature at the bottom read: Michael Vance.
Daniel's blood ran cold. "Michael... Michael wouldn't do that. He's my twin!"
"Oh, Daniel," Emily laughed softly, a sound that made his spine shiver. "Look closely at the security footage from the night I was pushed."
She flipped her phone around. It showed the yacht's deck camera. In the darkness, just minutes before she was thrown overboard, Emily hadn't been begging for her life. She had been whispering to the man holding her arm.
It wasn't Michael who smirked and said, "You can't even swim." It was Daniel.
But the man standing next to Daniel—the one helping him push her—wasn't Michael either.
"Michael and I have been having an affair for over a year, Daniel," Emily whispered, her eyes gleaming with absolute malice. "He hated you. You took the credit for the business, you took the money. So we made a plan. We knew you wanted me dead. We let you push me. I knew exactly when to dive. Michael had a jet ski waiting for me a mile away in the dark."
Daniel gasped, his breath fogging the glass. "No... no, Michael was with me! He helped me lock the office, he helped me—"
"The man in the interrogation room next to you isn't Michael," Emily interrupted, her voice dropping to a deadly, calm purr. "That's Michael's identity. But the man the police arrested at the warehouse with you? The one who will take the fall for the entire trafficking ring while 'Michael' and I disappear to a private island with all your wealth?"
Emily smiled, tilting her head.

"You see, Daniel... you and your twin look completely identical. Especially when one of them is forced at gunpoint to wear his brother's clothes. Say goodbye to your life, Daniel. Because as of today... you are officially Michael Vance, a convicted felon. And your brother is currently flying to Switzerland with your wife."
Emily turned on her heels and walked out of the room, the click of her heels echoing like a death knell. Behind the glass, Daniel screamed until his vocal cords tore, realizing that the ocean hadn't been his trap for her—it was her stage for him.
