Chapter 10 - THE FINAL SECRETIt was late Tuesday evening.

The grandfather clock in the foyer chimed eight times. True to his habit, Lorenzo Duca walked through the front double doors, his heavy wool coat draped over his arm, looking immaculate in a freshly pressed charcoal suit.

As he reached the foot of the grand staircase, a pair of small arms wrapped tightly around his right leg.

Lorenzo looked down. Little Emma beamed up at him, her red dress swishing around her ankles, holding out a pink plastic toy crown.

“For Uncle Lorenzo,” she announced proudly. “Because you’re the king of the house again.”

Lorenzo chuckled, a deep, rumbling sound of genuine amusement. He knelt down, accepting the plastic crown, and gently placed it atop his silvering hair.

Sophia walked out from the kitchen carrying a tray of tea, pausing at the archway with a warm, knowing smile. Mateo stood beside her, his arm resting comfortably around her shoulders.

Lorenzo stood back up, adjusting the silly plastic crown on his head with absolute dignity, and looked around his restored empire.

He had survived betrayal, torture, and a coup from his closest confidant—all because a three-year-old girl with pink scissors and a calico cat had wandered down a forbidden cellar stairs.

And as Lorenzo raised his teacup in a silent toast to the little family standing before him, he knew one absolute truth:

In a world built on blood, betrayal, and steel, the greatest weapon of all hadn't been a gun, a syndicate, or a billion-dollar empire.

It had been a missing button, a brave mother, and a toddler's pure, fearless heart.
