Chapter 5 - The Billionaire’s StrategyBack in Enugu, Chima sat at the small wooden table in my room, staring at a laptop I had borrowed from a trusted mechanic friend.

Through secure satellite encryption, Chima had established contact with his loyal head of security, Major Danjuma, and his personal corporate legal counsel.
“They thought they killed me, Amara,” Chima said, his fingers flying across the keyboard as corporate firewall logs scrolled down the screen. “My cousin, Dr. Emeka Eze, and our chief financial officer conspired with external rivals to stage that crash on the Enugu expressway. They scheduled an emergency shareholder vote for this Friday at 10:00 AM to strip my voting rights and liquidate the company.”
I handed him a steaming mug of local ginger tea. “Friday is in three days. If we just go to the police, their legal team in Lagos will stall the investigation until the vote goes through.”
Chima looked up, a fierce, brilliant smile breaking across his handsome face. He reached out and gently placed his hand over mine.
“We aren't going to the police first,” Chima said softly. “We are going to the boardroom. And you are going to walk in right beside me.”
“Me?” I blinked in surprise. “Chima, I’m just a market girl who sold fish and escaped an arranged marriage. What place do I have in a corporate boardroom?”

“You are the woman who saved my life when billionaires and killers left me in the dirt,” Chima replied, his voice ringing with absolute conviction. “And besides... you have a very special set of skills involving ledgers and numbers, don't you?”
A slow, confident smile touched my lips. “As it happens, Chima... I do.”
