Chapter 7 - The Uninvited GuestPanic erupted across the boardroom. Whispers exploded into loud shouts as directors scrambled to their feet.

“Security! Security!” Emeka shrieked, pressing the emergency buzzer on his desk. “An impostor—!”
“Don't bother, Emeka,” a calm, steady voice interrupted.
I stepped through the open doorway, walking into the boardroom right behind Chima.
I wasn't wearing my old, faded Ankara wraps. I wore a sharp, tailored emerald-green blazer dress, my hair swept back in a sleek chignon, carrying a heavy leather portfolio case under my arm.
Dr. Emeka stared at me, his eyes wide with confusion. “Who the hell is this? Throw her out!”
Chima stepped forward, placing a protective, grounding hand on my shoulder, turning to face the entire board of directors.
“Allow me to introduce Mrs. Amara Nwosu,” Chima announced proudly. “The woman who saved my life. And, more importantly, your new independent forensic auditor.”
Emeka laughed nervously, trying to regain his footing. “Auditor? She’s a nobody! A village girl with no corporate credentials! You expect us to listen to a market vagrant?!”

I didn't flinch. I walked steadily down the center aisle, stopped ten feet away from Emeka, and dropped a thick, gold-embossed dossier right onto his side of the marble table.
“I may have started my journey selling fish in the market, Emeka,” I said, my voice ringing clear and steady across the silent room. “But I also learned how to calculate interest rates faster than corrupt men can steal them.”
