Chapter 6 - The Emergency Board MeetingFriday morning. The towering glass headquarters of Eze Meridian Group in downtown Lagos buzzed with tense, artificial quiet.

Inside the grand executive boardroom, twenty-two members of the board of directors sat around the massive marble conference table. At the head of the table sat Dr. Emeka Eze, Chima’s treacherous cousin, wearing an expensive bespoke suit and a smug, victorious grin.
“As acting chairman,” Emeka announced loudly, tapping his golden pen against the table, “my cousin Chima’s tragic passing requires us to immediately ratify the restructuring resolution and transfer controlling shares to our primary investment partners.”
A chorus of murmurs rippled through the board. Several directors nodded in complicit agreement, ready to sign away the empire.
“I object,” a sharp, resonant voice echoed from the grand mahogany double doors at the entrance of the boardroom.
Every head in the room snapped around.
The heavy doors swung wide open.
Chima Eze walked into the boardroom.
He wasn't wearing a hospital gown or looking like a broken fugitive. He wore a crisp, tailored black suit, his posture radiating supreme authority, his head held high.
Dr. Emeka scrambled backward out of his chair, his face turning the color of curdled milk. He stared at Chima as if he were seeing a ghost risen straight from the grave.

“C-Chima?!” Emeka choked out, his voice cracking with unadulterated terror. “How... how are you—?”
“Surprised I’m not rotting in a ditch, Emeka?” Chima’s voice cut through the silent room like a razor.
