Chapter 8 - THE CORPORATE SHARK’S RETREATJust as the reconciliation began, Edward’s board of directors arrived. They had tracked him down. They weren't there for a family reunion; they were there to strip Edward of his voting shares, claiming he was mentally incompetent.
"Mr. Hale," the lead lawyer sneered, "we have the medical reports. You are no longer fit to lead Hale Logistics."
Clara stepped in front of her father. "He may not be fit to lead your company, but he is under my medical care. And if you harass a patient of mine again, I will personally see that every one of your illegal offshore accounts is exposed."
The lawyers retreated. Clara had been collecting evidence on them for years—waiting for the right moment to strike.
