CHAPTER 2 – THE SECRET NO ONE BELIEVED

Before Anna could move another inch...
The gym doors burst open.
Not one teacher.
Not two.
Nearly a dozen adults hurried inside.
The principal.
Vice principals.
School board officials.
Security personnel.
Behind them walked three people in dark business suits.
The laughter instantly disappeared.
Principal Wilson looked terrified.
"Everyone step back!"
Logan frowned.
"What is this?"
No one answered him.
Instead...
Every adult walked directly toward Anna.
Then something happened that froze the entire school.
The elderly janitor removed his work cap.
Straightened his posture.
Smiled gently.
"Miss Carter..."
He bowed respectfully.
The gym fell completely silent.
Even Anna looked surprised.
"You shouldn't have had to go through this."
Students stared in disbelief.
Logan laughed awkwardly.
"What is this? Some kind of joke?"
One of the businessmen calmly handed Anna a leather folder.
Inside were documents carrying the seal of one of the country's largest educational foundations.
Principal Wilson swallowed hard.
"Ladies and gentlemen..."
His voice trembled.
"I owe all of you an explanation."
He turned toward the students.
"Anna Carter has attended this school anonymously because her grandmother wanted her to experience a normal life."
Whispers exploded across the gym.
"What?"
"No way..."
"Impossible..."
The principal continued.
"Her family created the Carter Education Foundation."
"The foundation has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to schools across the country."
"The renovation of this very gym..."
He looked around the room.
"...was paid for by her family."
Logan's confident smile disappeared.
Someone accidentally dropped a phone onto the floor.
Anna quietly stood there, looking more uncomfortable than proud.
She had never wanted anyone to know.
But the truth wasn't finished.
The businessman looked directly at Logan.
"Mr. Brooks."
"You publicly humiliated the granddaughter of the woman who personally funds this school's scholarship program."
Logan suddenly couldn't breathe.
His teammates slowly stepped away from him.
For the first time in years...
The strongest student in school stood completely alone.
But Anna wasn't interested in revenge.
She only wanted to leave.
May you like
Unfortunately for Logan...
The consequences were only beginning.
